last gen version on new gen

i want to download the xbox one version of a game on my xbox series s, but im only given the option to download the xbox series x|s version of the game. i dont want to upgrade the games, i just want to keep them at the last gen version for i want to keep them on my external hard drive until i get an expansion card. is there a way i can download the xbox one version of games instead of the series x|s optimised version?

Only if the game allows, there is a game that does not have the backward-compatible version and it is only possible to install the version for Xbox Series S/X. If the game allows, you should see 2 game icons in your library, a backward-compatible version and one for the Xbox Series S/X.

That last boost was the bc update

Keep in mind the booster is only needed on Last gen games released before or shortly after series x

Most new games are either optimized already due to being next gen or you didn't get the next gen version

How many of you played the last gen version and then bought this version and think of it as a totally new experience?

B.c I have the regular version on PC, but I want to see it on the next gen consoles but I'm not sure if it's completely worth getting again once I play it on PC.

Some newer games are meant for next-gen consoles only, but as you see gaming companies are trying to further their reach by providing the stripped down versions of the game for the last gens.

It allows others who cant afford the next-gen consoles, or the ones that dont want the new consoles, a chance to play the new games.

I hope they don't make a 360 version. Hanger-ons of the last gen are stifling the potential of the new one.
