    Laser burn.....what!?


    I was playing cod ghost and I moved my xbox and it put a ring around it then I went to the store for the warranty and they said I had to contact xbox. will I have to buy a new xbox so it doesn't laser burn because there is no way I'm buying another xbox
    the first time I got console banned and they wouldn't even tell me why!

    RedCush, that is incorrect. A drive causes damage with someone moves it while in use.

    No you won't have to buy a new Xbox... you just have to read the manual and heed the area where it says "Do not move the console while in operation."

    This isn't a warranty issue. It's user error. If you read the manual it clearly states not to move the console while in use. You moved the console and damaged a disc. It's your fault.

    Visage is correct in his statement. When the console is moved while running with a disc inside it will burn the disc. This is indeed caused by user error and not an issue with the console. You can either try to install the game to your hard drive, borrow
    a copy from a friend and install it to the hard drive (for both of those options you will still need your disc in the tray to play) or purchase a new copy of the game.

    Do not move the console when it is on with a disc inside to prevent this in the future.

    Unfortunately it is not an Xbox problem in this case - this would happen with just about any console or device that is moved while a spinning disc is in the machine.

    Umm.... I'm pretty sure the ps3 and Wii don't mess up your games like that. So..... yeah. Its clearly not a user error.
