Larger Hard Drive

    Larger Hard Drive


    I have an Xbox 360S and would like to upgrade the internal hard drive to something larger than 500GB. Is this possible? If so, is there anything special that needs to be done in order for the Xbox to use the hard drive after installing it in order to transfer
    everything from the old drive? Thanks for any help.

    I have a XBox 360s 250gb and just got a Larger 500gb Drive & the transfer cable - I assume I would remove the 250 gb Drive and install the new drive Power the XBox up and let it format the disk and download any updates first?

    When that's over -Power down and Connect the Cable and old hard drive Power the XBOX up and select transfer ?

    Does that sound right?

    far as I know the only drive bigger than the 500 gig is the 1TB and that is only used on the One. there is no non legit way to put a bigger drive than what MS makes for a 360 sorry.

    Actually, you can now use up to a 2TB external hard drive on your console for extra storage space. Just be sure to try and stay away from Seagate and PNY drives as those do seem to have the most issues.

    Because with larger hard drive comes higher cost. To keep cost low they made that decision. Besides its cheaper for you to add an external hard drive than it is for your console to have a larger one
