Laptop microphone and not headset

If you’re headset/headset+microphone are plugged into your laptop as an audio capture device, then how are you supposed to hear the game volume and chat?

Hello Kenda_ 1, i don't know what kind of microphones you're using on your laptop/PC but if they're the most common they're made to pick up as much sound in the environment, I don't know what your intention would be in sound capture, but if you want ambient sound isolation, I think you'll have to research some semi-professional microphones and maybe an audio interface, for sure on the internetand you will find good reviews and references.

Thanks for helping to try solving it and I did try out those two things but the thing is when I plug my headphones in nothing happens like when my headphone speakers are working the laptop recognizes it as its own speaker that is already on the laptop and the microphone is the laptop microphone and I can't set anything to headset device if it isn't there but my laptop which is the HP EliteBook 8470p Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) can support both microphone and sound at the same time

Yes tested headset with laptop, they work fine. It is the whole headset- can't hear through it but the 'we can't find a microphone for these people'is the error message displayed. Yes, done a soft factory reset. No luck 🙁

I'm still having that issue my microphone for my laptop is on at the same time as my Headset being plugged in it makes a buzzing noise. I did roll the drives back
