Laptop loses Wifi when Xbox One is on (through wifi)

I have had an Xbox One since February, and recently have started having issues with my wifi and connectivity. Until a few weeks ago I was using the '**** tg862' modem from Xfinity in bypass mode along with a cheap netgear router for wifi in my house. Due
to connection issues with my xbox, I switched to just the **** modem/gateway just after Destiny was released and my connectivity issues seemed to have been resolved. I had no issues until this week when I realized that when my Xbox is on, my laptop loses all
connection to the internet.

What I mean by this is that, while connected to Xbox Live, my laptop loses the ability to connect to websites. I can still ping my router from my laptop without packet loss or issue, just no internet access. My laptop regains access immediately after turning
off the Xbox (with always on mode enabled). I have also made sure to assign the two devices separate IP addresses but have seen no improvement. This problem is localized to my laptop as there are three phones and two tablets also connected to the gateway
and do not suffer the same issues when the xbox is on (each of their addresses have been checked as well and there is no conflict).



Is there any reason that my laptop is having issues that you can think of? IP conflict was the only reason I could think of, but as I said, I have assigned each their own permanent addresses. the current firmware on the **** tg862 is version 7.6.59S.

Xbox One WiFi problem

I keep my Xbox One hooked to the Internet wirelessly but lately, the One keeps "losing" the WiFi info. Does anyone know why this is? I know it's not the WiFi because my laptop and desktop never lose their Internet connection.

 

Help connecting my Xbox One to my Surface Book2

Hi, I am a college student and I want to stream my Xbox one to my surface book 2. I know usually you would just have them on the same wifi and steam it through a laptop. Problem is I don't have a TV so I can't change the wifi settings on my Xbox because
I have no display. So I thought I could use an HDMI to USB-c cable to connect them through a wired connection and then change the wifi settings when my Xbox is displayed on my laptop. However, that is not working either, my laptop still won't display my Xbox
dashboard even though they have a wired connection. Is there a setting I need to change on my laptop possibly? thank you for any help

 

Some Gateways and Modems can only support 1 Device. So if you can set it on Bridgemoden an connect your Netgear router the Problem should be gone. You have written that you had Problems with your Netgear router? What router model is it? If you run the latest
Firmware and it does not help maybe your Netgear Device supports DD-WRT? If yes I would try to flash the router to DD-WRT. There you get all the latest things which ar possible with a router.

You have to check if DD_WRT is available for your Router before you flash

Another Problem could be:

port Forwarding - I dont know how it works on this gateway. If you have Ports Forwarded could you remove Port 80 ?

 

You should check if your Xbox uses an alternative MAC adress and if so please delete it and then try again. Please check also if you have set up any QoS rules and if so please deactivate them, too.
