Languages on downloaded games through live

Hi all

I've had a headache if a day with live and sorting out my accounts. I moved from Aus to Spain a year ago with my xbox but only joined gold a few months back. In that time I downloaded a few games and they worked fine. Suddenly today I was getting an error
message and after googling and reading forums discovered I needed to change not only my console settings but my live account setting to Spain to be able to download not only the free games with gold but ones I tried to pay for The last few days. Strange that
I downloaded others with no issues just last week but any I tried the last few days gave me that error message. So I switched my live account location to spain and it updated all that. Of course there Is no other language option but spanish-my spanish
is good enough to muddle through it and low and behold the games now download. I got the free game downloaded (mafia 2) and downloaded Oblivion as well. Yay.

However, now it's downloading the spanish version of the game. I understand I'm in spain but surely there is a way to Purchase the english version? The voices in oblivion are english but everything else is in Spanish and it's very frustrating. It's hard
to play when I'm trying to translate stuff. Great learning technique but not what I'm after at all.

Why has this all been made so bloody painful.

My questíon is if anyone knows if even though my live account is spanish if I can get the english version of games when I download. My console is set to english but that makes no difference.

Hello Hersenchimmel,

Unfortunately the digital download version of the game will be in the language of the country it was downloaded in. The only way to change the language option (if available) is through the game's menu.

You could also try to change your Xbox LIVE region language (if available) by following the directions written on this link
here.

Other than that, there would be no way to change the display language the game is available in. This would also happen with future game content purchased directly through the marketplace unless the default language for the game was English or if there was an
option set by the developer for different languages.

 

Games with Gold August - Epic Mickey 2 has wrong language pack

I have just downloaded this game through my Gold account, and find that the only languages available in the game is French, German, Spanish and Italian.

The language on my XBOX One S is English and my location is Denmark.

Please advise.

 

Nope console settings dont affect the language of the marketplace it inly affects offline stuff like console settings or stuff you do when not connected to live

The marketplace languages are usually the offically supported national languages of your region unless the game isnt available in that language and you are given the closest language to that region

Very few games will support multiple languages in game even disks

If you want a specific language you will have to buy the disk copy and be wary about dlcc

Dlcmost triple a titles will be region locked due to the international laws that govern gaming

For the best experience with any online service your account region has to reflect your actual region

Region locks dont apply to all games but usually the violent ones arw

 

Games from treyarch or any of the darksider games and various other games are language specific so if you get an out of region disk abd trying to download the dlc you need to match e language and location hence why importing games isnt recommended
