Language Settings

hey guys,

does anybody know, when MS will change the options ins the language/location settings? I am from Austria but I always play games in English, but due to MS weird thinking I can not choose Austria when i set my language to English... I would have to choose
another country like the US, UK or Canada, but then I can not access the Austrian store and would need a new credit card... Besides: when I change to another location my One will not log in into my wifi and I need to plug an ethernet cable...

Frankly: that is just weird and short sighted and I really, really hope MS will do something about that.

You're right, I tried to set the Russian at the console and the game runs in Russian. This therefore means however, that the time needed in the English version of the extra Czech. This is commonly available on the market, but the code that I have that I
can not support. Do you agree with me?

So. After a long time of thinking I finally got One today and obviously was excited to set it up to be ready for some gaming. The setup asked what language I wanna use. I decided I want to use the console in English as I'm used to having my 360 in English
so I figured I'd be more familiar with the system in that language. So, then it asked for where I live. A list of English speaking countries and a few odd ones like Hungary or Slovakia. No Finland or any other Nordic country to choose from. I thought it was
a bit weird but ended up picking the UK thinking the setting was as useless as the locale setting on the 360. Went to the Marketplace and what do I see? Prices in British pounds. The only way to see the Finnish prices turned out to require me to have my location
set to Finland. That's ok and expected. What isn't ok is that the console doesn't allow me to use it in English and keep my country as Finland. Why not? Why am I not free to choose from all of the available languages regardless of my home country? I much prefer
English even if my native language is Finnish - I simply don't even understand some of the options in Finnish as I do all my tech stuff in English! Since the console obviously contains all those languages, why not let the user freely pick a preferred language?

PS. There is a significant Swedish speaking minority in Finland yet they can't now choose Swedish apparently since choosing Finland only offers Finnish. What is this backwards thinking Microsoft has going on?

 

I'm having the same issue in Germany. My language is set to English but because I am on the German marketplace many of the things on my Xbox have changed to German. Plus I now have to just hope I get the game in the correct language when I download a game.
MS have the absolute worst forward planning of any company I have seen.

This is the 21st century. English speaking people are everywhere. Hell, half my German friends only play games in English. There really needs to be a way to keep things in English regardless of where you are.
