Lan party in mutltplayer mode no connection

We have 2 xbox 360s connected by an ethernet cable, I've tried it via wireless and a switch too but my friend can't see my game in COD Ghosts. I've added her as a friend and she is in my clan but there is just no way for us to play via system link. Sometimes
I get a message 'unable to join game' or dialogs with padlocks beside them. Any ideas?

    :)

    Limited or No Connectivity

For: Ktownfireman Yeah I have tried to unplug the router and modem together, but no such luck.

For:MrNightmareTM My computer has a seperate connection that works fine, its just the LAN that doesn't work, So is there a way to connect my Xbox throught the Broadband connection, not the LAN?

Not a LAN Party we're just on the same modem, and when we party up and go to a match we can't join together it disconnects us both.
