Lags on Age of Empire Definitive Edition for PC (Xbox Game Pass)

Hi - I've got a brand new Lenovo, Intel i5, Windows 10, I paid it 1000 euros...and Age of Empire is now extremely slow and lagging, it's basically useless. Yes, I closed all the other apps, antivirus, firewalls etc...I know there was some server maintenance 2 days ago, was it impacting the performance for everyone? How can I resolve this??? Microsoft, are you serious?? A 20 y o game can't run on modern laptops???

If you are a Game Pass subscriber you can access the game via Xbox App on PC, or thru the Microsoft Store

Which one? Only ask as all 4 are available on GP in the UK

If I (from the UK) look at the UAE page for the Age of Empires Definitive Edition, for example, it says it is available on Game Pass:

Unfortunately "Age of Empires Definitive Edition", is a PC only game. Be sure to check "Available on"
Section for any games you buy on the Microsoft Store to make sure it is compatible with all your devices.

The game isn't the same as it was 20 years ago, it's a remastered version. You might have a great processor but you might not have a good video card.

See if it helps you.

Enter the game name in the Windows bar>right click>apps settings and click terminate, repair, and restore. Inside the game, enable the v-sync option and see if this improves performance.

If the problem persists see if you have the 4k graphics pack installed, remove it.

thank you for your reply. I've got a Video Card Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics Family;

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz;

Ram 8.00 GB (7.80 GB usable);

Windows 11 Home;

I think I have a good setup but I still lowered all the settings in the game to the the lowest quality (which is the default option), removed as you said all the v-sync option and repairing the app, reinstalling, everything....nothing works!

I'm really upset cause I just would like to have what I purchased, nothing more and even with a brand new laptop, this has to happen. Can you please help me and tell me what i should do further?
