Laggy Performance on Xbox One - 1st Gen

I've been on the Xbox Ambassador Support for the past couple of days and noticed that there were alot of gamers who are now facing laggy games or slow loads over time. I've got an older Xbox One as well and had similar issues, I understood my Xbox Hard Drive
is probably close to death since I game on it almost everyday.

In order to prolong the life of my drive I decided to invest some dollars into an external hard drive which has fixed alot of my game load and performance issues. I personally suggest buying the Seagate - 2TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive and storing most
of your games on the external drive.

Hopefully this helps those who've been trying to do numerous hard resets, messing with their router and frustration. Sometimes you have to come to terms that your Xbox is getting old and needs a little bit of help

Black ops 4 (xbox one x)

Well i do one another xbox one 1st gen ...and i gameshare on that xbox and black ops gives that one no problem,

Not on 1st gen apparently. 2nd gen, HD, or HDX yes, but old-school 1st gen, no.

 

I think only thing making a new harddrive quicker is that it would be defragmented.

And Xbox has so far not had any defrag tool - which there are a number of requests for on uservoice.

A drive does not become slower over time. I use a 14 year old XP machine writing this still with original drive in place. That one is 3200 rpm but the same as when I bought it.

Also have a second drive on it which is 7200 rpm.

Performance boost is always defragmenting.
