    Well since ive been waiting for over an hour to chat with an xbox representative i may aswell just post here.

    Ive been having lag spikes since i remember getting my xbox one s last christmas and just thought it was my connection and put up with it. It would happen every day every game i played.

    Recently i hooked up my old xbox one and there was none of it. Not sure if i have warrenty but what would be causing these spikes and what can i do to fix it ?

    (By lag spikes i mean game freezes for 5-10 seconds and then speeds up super fast untill it catches back up)

    Also i bought an xbox one elite controller one month ago and was pleased to find the right bumber break already last week. 200$ for a controller that doesnt last a. God damn month

    So please xbox help me out becuase i am on the verge of literally smashing my console and controller and everything else around me

    Lag Spikes!

    If this problem still persists please contact microsoft support
    here    . They should be able to find an answer to the random freezes.

    Every 15 - 30 minutes my game suddenly freezes for 3 seconds, then sends me to the home screen where it says rejoin match (for qp it would say at the top in a green box; found a game). after 6 seconds it would finally automatically reconnect me to game but
    when i join back it acts as if i was still in the game idle and afk. this only happens in Overwatch and whenever this does happen my other home devices such as my laptop are always running smoothly. Pls Help!

    Exactly...I'd rule out the game itself before blaming the hardware. Could be the game is switching servers and putting the OP in one on the other side of the world for example

    Not lag. The xbox just can't handle the game engine. You'll notice on SEINE that the game comes to full stop at points or on other maps when parts of buildings come down (most notably on seine and karkand maps, IMO) that the FPS takes a toilet dive.

    Thank you for the update. To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.
