Lag issues

so I've had my Xbox one for about 3 months now and it was all fine and dandy I could play games like battlefield 4 and nba 2k15 smoothly with the occasional lag but that's expected but all of a sudden two days ago everytime i try to play a game it's completely
unplayable with the amount of lag that occurs. My ping ranges anywhere from 190 to 1200 which is unbelievable, my download speed ranges from 0.99-4.50 with is also pretty bad. My connection is wireless but I don't understand how there could be a problem all
of a sudden if it was working for 3 months perfectly fine. Everything else in my house is working fine my laptop, desktop, ipad, phones, basically everything that requires a Internet connection works great with great speed... Well except for my Xbox one that
is... I've contacted support and they always seem to have the same answers "server upgrades" or "contact your isp" which gets me absolutely nowhere.

Quite honestly there can still be lag. Dedicated servers dont typically negate lag issues. However,there will
be no more host advantage and host dashboards. Your connection will determine if you lag or not.

Not bad speeds, but a little on the slow side.

Have you tried clearing your xbox system cache and powercycling your network?

If you have a cable modem with a *** in coxial cable, you could try unscrewing that and using a soft cloth to discharge the static. Only unscrew the end from the modem - the wall end is the grounded side.

sorry to hear you are having issues. I think your first step for troubleshooting should be to rule out WiFi issues. Lots of things can cause interference and degrade signal - including signals originating outside your house. If you can get some Ethernet
cable and temporarily connect your Xbox direct to your router and then check your games. If they work then it looks like a connection issue, if the same problem pop's up its probably something outside your control - but at least its a step closer to understanding
whats wrong and then at that point you can look at your ISP, Xbox live and other servers as possible causes. You will also be able to say its not your WiFi as you have tried other methods!

Hey thanks for the advice, anyways today I bought a Ethernet cord and before I hooked it up I tried it one last time and guess what? Out of the blue I can play again! I couldn't believe it I have no idea how it sorted it self out but some how it did. Might
keep the Ethernet cable around just in case though lol
