  1. Lag in multiplayer games.

Hi, I'm getting a lot of lag playing FIFA 14 and COD ghosts online. I've checked the network statistics on the xbox and it shows -

    Download speed - 38mbps

    Upload speed - 12 mbps

    Packet loss - 0%

    MTU - 1452

    Latency - 164ms

    Wireless strength - 80%

I don't know what most of this means to be honest but looking at this help page

    here
, I'm guessing maybe the latency is the problem?

I've tried using a wired connection but that doesn't improve the latency in the network test. My NAT type seems to randomly change between open and moderate too, but I'm getting the lag with both nat types.

    Can anyone help?

    :)

  4. Lag in multiplayer games.

As the help page I mentioned says that streaming video requires the same latency as online gaming, I will add that streaming in HD from Netflix and Amazon instant video works perfectly.

Could you tell more things about your trouble?,

    for example:

    Where are you from?

What hardware do you use? (router specs)

Have you experienced this issues since a couple of days?, or always?

First of all, you can try connecting your xbox one with an ethernet cable (i know you have already done this), but now, try to setup your xbox in your router as a DMZ and see what happens (You shouldn't have any NAT problem with this config). Sometimes UPnP
services don't work well in some routers.

164ms is a high latency, depending on lot of things, (server load, distance to USA servers; because ping tests are made lot of times by them, even if you live in Europe, your network installation... etc)

So, you can try with the DMZ trick and if it doesn't work, we can try other things.

  6. I think I may have fixed the nat issue by opening ports on my router, but I'm still getting the lag.

I'm in the UK and my router is a bt home hub 3. The problems started a couple of months ago but seem to be getting worse last 2 weeks or so.

It works perfectly fine sometimes and the lag just seems to start suddenly at random times and games will be unplayable for hours after. I'm starting to think its probably an issue with my broadband supplier

    Lag issues!

Wasn't aware of any new updates.

No lag here, even on multiplayer games.

If your getting lag on Fallout then it may be an issue with your console.
