    Lack of Remote Play Feature?

I do not understand why this feature is not in place. I have to honestly say as the owner of nearly every console spanning 40 years, I love to have seen this evolution since Pong. I am not a fanboy of any console, each has strength and weaknesses. My gaming
ranges between PC and consoles. From my bi annual rebuild of my gaming desktop, Alienware M18 R2 laptop, Surface Pro 3 i7, Xbox One/360, PS4/3/Vita and rarely the Wii/U with my kids.

Now I must say I am appalled with both Sony and Microsoft to lock out easy streaming of Music and Videos from say a NAS or Server. I must say I am very impressed with Sony's remote play feature. I have sat through some very boring events playing my PS4 on
the Vita on wifi or even my cell phone hotspot. Really it is not that complicated with the right compression of audio and video and return of input events with today's data connection speeds it would seem a no brainer. When my kids or wife is hogging the TV
I should be able to use my Xbox controller on any of my PC devices. Even my Surface should work with the controller or onscreen controls. Same with the Windows Cell phones (Heck might even be able to sell more!).

Here is the point Microsoft needs to pay attention to I just did a bunch of pre-orders for the Fall Line up of games, about $700 worth even with
20% off each title. The number one thing I thought about was is this a game I want to be able to play on the road as well. I have to say more sales went to the side of the PS4 for this reason alone.
You Will Lose Sales... The truth be told I'd probably bought many these games for XB1 as I find Microsoft has a far better network than Sony especially
a consideration for Multiplayer games. But I wanted to be able to play at times when I am out and about. I hope someone over there realizes this and put a couple folks from their tech army to the grind stone they could most likely knock this out in less than
month. There may not be a lot of dual console owners, but those that do likely own a Vita for this purpose and a lot of sales are likely lost coming up on the first fall release cycle. Perhaps I am just talking to fellow games and no one from MS even reads
    this stuff...

    :)

I have to agree that remote play is a great feature. Not only playing remotely at home, but over the net. I read a thread on another forum where someone took his Vita on holiday to France, and turned on and played his PS4, which was in the Midlands, using
    a Wifi connection.

However, I feel that x1 remote play using a Vita is very very unlikely as each game has to have remote play features coded in, and no x1 game will be developed with Vita support. But I do think a similar feature could be achieved with smartglass. I can already
link a 360 pad to my Surface, so it seems possible that an x1 pad could be linked, using Smartglass to stream the picture.

The idea of remote play for the Xbox One is a very tempting thing, however Microsoft would be best to leave it alone.

The PS4 has remote play because Sony also make the Vita (something Microsoft currently doesnt do) so Sony can optimise the software perfectly between two known systems.

On the Microsoft side though what system should they use? perhaps their series of tablets? but then people will no doubt complain "why isnt my device supported?" and then you also have the problem of controller support. You could theoretically plug in your
Xbox One controler into the Microsoft tablet using USb, but that just means more gadgets to carry around.

perhaps use those software joysticks then like smart phones do? nope, those are terrible.

Definitely a feature that should be added. People play xbox one remotely using an nvidia shield portable. I have my nvidia shield portable to play my pc games remotely and my ps vita to play my ps4 remotely. If a game comes out for ps4 and pc and xbox
one...I usually buy it for ps4 or pc due to my ability to play them remotely. I only buy exclusive xbox one games for the xbox one. With traveling for work, family taking over the tv; I am forced to play on other screens. I think I read somewhere though,
that the smart glass app will stream your tv channel...hopefully this is the beginning of streaming xbox one games to your computer, ios or android device.

Too complicated for me to set it up but others have. Hopefully microsoft does something official.

Have to say I don't have the cash to buy an expensive bit of kit to remote play, but if I did I would likely buy one a only last night I could have used it, and when the soaps are on I get kicked off, so would be nice, however don't think my mrs would like
    the idea.

I think the best way to do remote play would be do an app from windows 8 and 8.1 machines, as well the surface and xbox 360. This would allow me to enjoy my xbox one titles on the go or in another room, but another thought that had occurred to me would
be, why not allow the 360 to do the same.

This way it kind of solves the issue of backwards compatibility. I would be able to remote play the 360 to the xbox one and my other Microsoft devices.
