    I've been a loyal Xbox customer since the first Xbox was released back in 2002 I think it was. What a great system that was. Solid and never had a single issue with it. Then the Xbox 360 gets released. I buy one thinking it'll be fine. Everyone complained
    about the "red ring of death", but for me I never had that issue. In fact that first 360 console I purchased lasted a couple of years until the graphics card finally croaked. So I purchased the Resident Evil 5 Red console bundle. The disc drive croaked it
    within a year I think it was. But I didn't complain as I loved the games and enjoyed playing it, so I bought another console which also broke down within a year. Now, I take care of my consoles and games. I don't move them when they are on or have a disc in
    the drive, in fact I don't move them at all. No-one touches them except to take a disc out or put one in. Another console is bought and within a week it overheats and croaks it. I know own a 360 that is actually decent. It runs perfectly and it's in the exact
    same place as the others were. So now I own 4 Xbox 360 consoles and only one works....disappointed is understatement.

    When I heard there was to be an Xbox One I was seriously looking forward to it. I thought that maybe now, after all these years of purchasing 4 consoles, 8 controllers and over 200 brand new physical games, there might be some serious changes to the components
    and there won't be any more issues like the first console. After 7 months of owning an Xbox One...the disc drive sounds like it's grinding my discs up and now no longer works. So I'm effectively sitting on another $600 brick.

    I contacted support so that I may get it repaired or, best case scenario, exchanged. After 5 different conversations with contradicting information, lack of care or interest in customer loyalty, I finally find out that the shipping label for a Standard Exchange
    order didn't get sent and I would have to either wait another 24 hours for that order to be cancelled and a new one created or I could go to a local courier company (I live in rural Victoria, Australia. So Australia Post is all I have and they aren't open
    on a Sunday) and get a shipping label from them and quote the order number on that. The last bit is fine. I don't mind carrying it to the local post office and getting a label. What annoys me is that I had to contact support 5 separate times to get that final
    result. Why couldn't the fourth or third person have provided that information to me instead of being condescending and telling me that I should check my inbox and spam/junk folder. The last person I spoke to informed me that they hadn't sent the label, which
    took him no more than 2-3 minutes to find that out.

    My biggest issue is the quality of the product being sold. It has progressively been getting worse over the years and it has me worried that the next generation of consoles will be nothing more than a cheap lunchbox with a few plastic spindles that break
    just by looking at them. I understand that it's "new tech". Trying to put more in there and make things more powerful, but is that worth it at the cost of quality? I have been a staunch defender of the Xbox brand since day one and as a consumer I want to literally
    sell it all off, tell people to avoid Xbox altogether (due to quality and the support) and purchase a Sony product (which has no guarantee of quality either), but the loyal part of me wants to stay and continue to enjoy the product, when it works. Fortunately
    my loyal side wins out. I've invested over $12,500 over the past 12ish years, so that's a lot of time and money to spend with one particular brand, and I don't like the idea of just quitting it because of a few bad experiences. I just wish there was...some
    light at the end of it.

    Why are our posts not answered? What's the point in reporting our problems. Poor customer service!!

    its sad that you had to go through all that trouble and totally understandable that you had to vent. I do know that in the u.s and some countries a replacing console can be sent out ahead of time but you will need to put a credit card down first. I don't
    know what else I will have done in your situation. As far as quality wise I am finding the Xbox one to be better built than the 360

    I think its quality, all its lacking are a few decent sized maps,ie, Wasteland, Derail, Afghan etc. Hopefully they will arrive soon, then i'll be a happy chappy.

    Quality of picture and sound is not affected by the HDMI cable. It is just a BS myth. Just buy the cheapest cable of decent build quality.
