L trigger on XB1 wireless controller acts as if being pressed rapidly

I found the controller is inputting both controller inputs, and keyboard inputs. So by pressing A to jump, Minecraft recognizes both the press of A on the controller and either Tab or Return, as for me both were mapped on my keyboard. By binding jump to a different keyboard key, I was able to open chat again. Same for crouch and other double mapped buttons.

I would like to know how to change the sensitivity of the triggers, as my controller left trigger places multiple blocks very rapidly when I only want to place one.

Please check if the computer registers the controller's trigger as an analogue axis properly.

To do that, open your Start menu and type "control" to show the control panel app.

Open the Control panel and in the search bar in the upper right, type "Game" and open the control panel for Game controllers.

Find your connected controller and test the controller.

Check that the gauges move if you press the Triggers. Make sure that the gauge really moves according to how much you press the trigger.

The trigger is not an on/off thing, but an analogue input, like a throttle or brake pedal in a car. The more you press it, the higher the value the controller sends to the PC.

And if a game uses the trigger as a digital switch (like the trigger of a gun), it might be that due to miscalibration the trigger doesn't reach the value threshold for it to register as being "pressed".

The XB1 controller triggers are amazing with this game.

This sounds like a familiar problem I had with one of my controllers a while ago. I found that the connection with the wireless adapter was much more reliable.

I recommend you have the PC forget the bluetooth connection with the controller, and have the controller depend only on the connection with the wireless adapter. When you disconnect the controller from the PC, it's possible that it will blink as though it is not connected to anything--this is okay.

Just reconnect to the wireless adapter only, without going through the bluetooth settings on your PC, by:

1. Press and hold the connection button on your controller until the Nexus button blinks rapidly
   
2. Press and hold the wireless adapter's connection button until the indicator light on it blinks rapidly
   
3. Wait a few seconds for the controller and adapter to find each other, and for the blinking to slow down and stop, indicating a successful connection

Good thought, but this doesn't address the controller not appearing under 'Bluetooth & devices'.

One more detail, when I connect the controller wirelessly to the pc via the Xbox Wireless Adapter. Press the sync button, light blinks rapidly. On PC click 'add xbox controller via wireless adapter. The controller light immediately goes solid, but the PC never indicates it found a device, it just keeps searching indefinitely.
