KOTOR not working

I bought KOTOR yesterday and it keeps asking me to do an update, I won't download the update and keeps asking me to download it, I got really excited to play this game again and I can't even play it, what's going on?? I've looked and people are having the
same issue with my answers on how to fix it :/

KOTOR Not Working

I am unable to transfer it to the internal drive as the game is too large. I also do not have Xbox Gold so I can not move it to cloud. I did try transferring it to a different device, (a USB stick) but it still did not launch and the same error screen popped
up. I have also again deleted and re-downloaded the game, but it still does not play/launch.

I've noticed that in My Games, Star Wars: KOTOR does not have a game picture, a display of how many trophies have been obtained, nor does the small controller icon in the bottom corner have a play button (triangle) compared to the other games I have purchased
on Xbox live which play normally.

Hey Purple Rain Dan! Is the game installed on an external drive? If not, you may want to try a

factory reset to see if it helps resolve the startup issue. Post back and let us know!

Several people have reported this issue. It is going to require a patch for a fix I believe. Sorry for the inconvenience.

 

I've had a similar issue: I purchased KoTOR on my 360 a few days ago: it seems to download the whole game, yet doesn't appear on my games menu, and the corresponding file under the system menu says it is corrupt. I've tried countless times and all the suggestions
i can find (clear cache etc), but it's still not working.

I'm wondering if it is a region thing: I'm in Australia (and have my account etc set up as Australia), and while the game does appear in the Xbox store on the console, maybe it just hasn't been released here yet??

I'm getting a bit annoyed, as you know, I paid money for it and am dying to play it again!!

 

Hey there Maxiee95,

What happens when you try to download the update? Are you able to uninstall and reinstall the game fully to see if that helps?

Ditto. I have the same problem in the U.S., it's not you, I have tried to download the Kotor HD version like 20 times, cleared space of 40GB free, thinking maybe using a different area of the disk might help. Done all the troubleshooting I could find with
no luck.

I got so psych up, to play this, bought it from Microsoft with good money and they have failed to deliver the game. I am so upset. At least Microsoft could issue a refund for games that don't download. Talk to Microsoft Support they said no problems
reported downloading the game, yeah right. Explain to the CSR that I had plenty space and could download game over twice the size, their solution I should connect via ethernet or contact Bioware as it most likely a problem with their program. Tried to
explain to rep that I don't think it every finished Microsofts download process. I really doubt Bioware controls Microsofts download process. First time my family has got a decent game in over year and can't play it. Have Xbox gold, ready to dump it, no
decent games for over a year, don't know why I even bother.
