Kodi on Xbox one.

I am sure that this question has been asked before and people might be tired of listening about this topic,

but I am just wondering something. I heard that if you somehow play Kodi through my console that I will be band from xbox live and my console will just become a brick.

I personally don't think that they would because Kodi is partnered with xbmc and that is from xbox right?

please if someone knows anything about this subject can you please let me know. I am just confused here.

I what I heard true or are they just full of it?

i am trying to download kodi 17.6. in the store they only have kodi 18. how can i get kodi 17.6 that will work on my xbox one?

It will be great and many people will agree with me that if kodi comes to xbox one then it will be all in one for everything

You can't get Kodi on an Xbox One and as far as I'm aware you can't put Kodi on a 360 either. I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain that's the case. You could possibly be able to mirror cast it via a laptop, tablet or phone, like you can with YouTube.

I'm not sure why you'd want Kodi on your XB1 anyway?! Buy a Firestick or an Android Box and whack it on that!

Why should someone need multiple devices when the" One" is supposed to be your one stop media center? I have entirely too much hooked up to my amp already. A few years ago when I was still using Windows Media Center for cable TV I only had an Xbox 360 hooked
up and it could do everything I needed. The simplicity was great.

 

There is a way to use Kodi on your XBox One, but you con't download it as an app. I don't see why XBox live would ban you for having Kodi, since it isn't an illegal download or streaming site, but I don't work for XBox, Microsoft, Kodi, or any other related
company/organization.

XBMC used to be connected to XBox, but as I understand it, they are no longer affiliated.

 

that's exactly why I would like it on the XB1 CodeCat5, the mess of things around my TV is massive, and lets not just talk about the amount of wires in the back. that would free up my laptop from my system, I also want to get rid of my cable box and going
with just the apps I can literally use on the XB1.

but I was told by my neighbor that XBOX would band me and it would turn my console into a brick, If they see that I am running Kodi in any shape or form through the console. that did not make sence to me that's why the question. I really don't want to buy
yet another gadget to plug into my tv. call me lazy but it would be nice if I dont have to keep going through my TV's inputs every time that I want to do something different. would be nice to have one remote that controls everything.

If you just want to stream to your console from your PC then Windows Media Player will do the job well enough, for standard formats anyway.

Want to use some more then try Universal Media Server or Plex, which can reencode on the fly.

Personally never understood the popularity of Kodi. I seemed to spend more time fighting it than using it to watch anything.

XBMC by the way was never associated with Microsoft. It started life as a third party software for modded original Xbox consoles.

To my knowledge no 'hacks' exist for the Xbox One to run Kodi, just the original and 360. Though as these need the consoles to be modded then yes, Microsoft will ban for its use.
