Known Issues for Game Launches (Fall 2018)

Hello Gamers!

The Fall gaming season is upon us and we hope you’re enjoying time in your favorite game or franchise as we see new releases each week. We understand at times, things can go wrong though, and we want you to know that we are working to resolve troubling
experiences reported to us by our customers within the Xbox Community. Keep an eye on this list for updates to existing issues along with any new issues that may come up as new games launch.

• EA Access
  • Known Issue: 10-Hour Trials for games counting down time when users are not actively playing the games.
  • Workaround: This can occur a few different ways but most often it is during a period where the game is paused and left running. To alleviate this and prevent this from happening to your 10-hour trail please make sure you fully quit out
    of the game from the Guide menu when you are finished with each session within your 10-hour trial. To do this properly press the Guide button on your controller and highlight the game you are playing the 10-hour trial for from your recently played list. Press
    the Menu button> Highlight Quit and press the A button.

• Battlefield V
  • Known Issue: Some users reporting controller vibration stops at various points of gameplay.
  • Workaround: This issue is being currently investigated by the proper teams and they are looking forward to a future update to address the issue. Until then, you can save, quit, and restart your game to resolve the issue as you encounter
    it during gameplay.
    
  • Known Issue: Some users are seeing a "You're too early" error when trying to launch Battlefield V via EA Access 10-Hour Trial.
  • Workaround: You will need to make sure you acquire the license for the trial through the EA Access app with the following steps:
    
  • 1. Download
       Battlefield V through the Microsoft Store
    2. Allow download to fully finish on your Xbox One console
    3. Attempt to launch the game on Xbox One
    4. See error, “You’re too early. We know you really want to get started, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer. Check Microsoft Store for the launch date.”
       
    5. Open the
       EA Access hub on Xbox One and navigate over to Battlefield V
    6. Even with the content already downloaded to the console, select “Download” on content page.
       
    7. See message to “GET” this trial offer thought EA Access
    8. Allow the process to complete and process on the account you’re currently using.
       
    9. Navigate back to My Games & Apps and attempt to launch Battlefield V once more
       
    10. On splash screen, see message notifying the player about their active trial time
        
    11. Select “Okay” and you’re now able to access the trial

• Red Dead Redemption 2
  • We are not tracking any known issues for Red Dead Redemption 2 at this time but for any additional help or information concerning any in-game issues being tracked in Red Dead Redemption 2,

• Hitman 2
  • Known Issue: Some users may be confused on how to access the Hitman Legacy Pack.
  • Workaround: There is a great, detailed breakdown of this content and how to access it at
    
    this developer post here. Please check there to see what all content you would qualify for.
    
• Fallout 76
  • We are not tracking any known issues for Fallout 76 at this time but for any additional help or information concerning any in-game issues being tracked in Fallout 76, please check
    out this page for further assistance.
    
• Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
  • Known Issue: Some users being asked to pay for the Black Ops Pass despite purchasing it through the Deluxe or Deluxe Enhanced Edition.
  • Workaround: If you are noticing this scenario with your Black Ops Pass, please restart your console and re-check your My Games
    & Apps section to make sure the Classified map shows up under Ready To Install. To do this, press the
    Xbox button> then select My Games & Apps and
    See All. From there highlight Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and press the
    Menu button> and select Manage Game & Add-Ons. You should now see the
    Classified map show under your Ready To Install section which signifies the Black Ops Pass is now working properly. This should resolve the issue and add the additional items to your inventory.

• Fortnite
  • Known Issue: Some users unable to play with Mouse & Keyboard on Xbox One once game starts.
  • Workaround: To ensure you are put in a lobby with Mouse & Keyboard users, be sure to connect the desired Mouse & Keyboard before starting the game. When you go to start the
    game and "Ready Up" from the game lobby, be sure to start the game with the Mouse & Keyboard and
    NOT the Xbox One controller. If you "Ready Up" and start the matchmaking process with a controller, you will be placed in a controller lobby and the only accepted input will be sent from that controller.
    
    Note: Child accounts are unable to use Mouse & Keyboard support on Fortnite at this time. Look for news in the future on when this feature will be enabled.
    
    
    
    
  • Known Issue: Customers confused on which games support mouse and keyboard after taking the 1811 November console update.
  • Workaround: Mouse and Keyboard support is a feature that is available for all games to take advantage of but it is up to the individual game publisher and developer if they want to take advantage of that feature. At the time of this 1811
    update which launched on 11-14-2018, Fortnite and Warframe will support this feature with more games to follow in the future. For more info on this, check

    is on your console.
    
  • Known Issue: Microsoft is aware of reports concerning mouse and keyboard latency on the Xbox One and are actively investigating.
  • Workaround:
    • Find out if polling rate is configurable for your mouse.
      • This could be through a configuration app, hardware buttons.
    • If it is configurable, set it to a lower setting. For now we are recommending 125Hz.
      • If polling rate is not configurable, try a different mouse.
        
  • Note: Changing DPI settings will not affect the lag.
    
• All Games
  • Known Issue: Users experiencing games crashing when resuming a paused game running in the background after watching content through the YouTube app.
  • Workaround: In order to best alleviate this issue, we currently recommend using YouTube on a different device if possible (tablet, phone, laptop) when a game is paused and running in the background on the Xbox One. If you are unable to
    gain access to a separate device, we recommend fully quitting out of a game instead of pausing it if you wish to launch the YouTube app with these steps: Press the Xbox Button when you are done playing any game> Highlight the game you were
    playing> Press Menu> Select Quit and press A to fully quit out of the game before launching the YouTube app. This should make it so the game will launch without issue if you wish to relaunch any game during
    this session.
    
  • Known Issue: Purchasing a 5x5 for a game or an add-on for a game at a retailer and the code redeems CSV to the Microsoft Account and does not grant access to the actual game or game add-on.
  • Workaround: When you purchase a digital code for a game or game add-on at a retailer, that code is actually meant to give pre-paid money (CSV) to the account of the user who redeems it. You are then to take that pre-paid balance and then
    go purchase the content from the Microsoft Store digitally. The issue most users run in to is that this code does not cover your local sales tax. So be sure to pick up an additional pre-paid Xbox gift card in order to cover the tax of the purchase or make
    sure you have a valid payment instrument on the account so that you can complete your desired purchase.
    
  • Known Issue: Users are seeing their pre-orders cancelled for games if they did not have a a valid payment instrument on their account at the point of the charge.
  • Workaround: All pre-orders typically charge customers 10 days before the game release date. This means that you will need to have a valid payment instrument on your account at least 10 days before a game releases to avoid any billing issues.
    After a charge on your account has failed for a pre-order there will be another attempt at a charge a few days later. If that second attempt fails to successfully charge, then your pre-order will be cancelled and you will need to repurchase the desired game
    again once you have added a valid payment instrument to your account.
    

• Sunset Overdrive on Windows 10 & Steam
  • Known Issue: Some users experiencing issues with mouse sensitivity on Windows 10 and Steam.
  • Workaround: Users may find that turning down the mouse sensitivity using the in-game options can help mitigate this issue. The team is aware of the user feedback here though, and is looking into it further.
    
    
    
    
  • Known Issue: Controller vibration may not stop at some points while playing on Windows 10.
  • Workaround: This can easily be resolved by triggering another event in-game that would cause the controller to vibrate like firing your weapon, being hit by an enemy/taking damage, jumping on objects to bounce, etc.
    
  • Known Issue: Number of achievements unlocked displays incorrectly in the Xbox app.
  • Workaround: There is no known workaround for this issue at this time but you will receive the correct amount of achievements and Gamerscore as they unlock. For confirmation, you can
    
    check your profile on Xbox.com.
    
  • Known Issue: The game is not able to be played while offline on Steam.
  • Workaround: The proper teams are aware of this and looking to address the issue in a future patch to the game.
    
  • Known Issue: The game does not work with AMD Thuban based Phenom II CPUs (eg. Phenom II X6 1100T)
  • Workaround: There is no workaround. The Thuban based CPUs do not support the features that are required for the game.

• Assassin's Creed Odyssey

• Forza Horizon 4
  • Known Issue: The Car Pass does not download to your console despite paying for and owning it's contents.
  • Workaround: The Car Pass will not download to your My Games & Apps but if you own a valid license for the Car Pass, you will see the word "You own this product" on the
    description page here. To verify that you have the Car Pass and the content within it is properly being granted to your account, verify that you have the 1962 Triumph TR3B and 2017 Koenigsegg Agera RS available in-game to add to your
    garage for free. If you see these items available for free when in the Autoshow> Browse All Cars, then you have the Car Pass and the content is properly being given to your account. The rest of the Car Pass content will be released at future dates.
    
  • Known Issue: Downloadable cars do not automatically add to your in-game garage.
  • Workaround: For downloadable car pack content, you will need to follow the following in-game navigation flow to claim your one free copy of each car included in your purchased car packs:
    
    • Enter any in-game owned property or Horizon Festival Site
    • Go to the Autoshow tab and select DLC Cars and press the A
      button
    • Select desired car pack and press the A button
    • Select desired car and press the A button
    • Choose desired paint/design and press the A button
    • Press the A button to purchase your one free copy of this car.
      
      Note: Any additional purchases of this car will be charged at the in-game credit price. Only one copy of each car is accessible for free from within each car pack. You might also need to progress in-game to the point where you have qualified
      for the Horizon Roster in order to see some of the menu options like accessing DLC cars.

• Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  • Known Issue: Users who pre-ordered Shadow of the Tomb Raider did not receive their avatar outfit from their pre-order.
  • Workaround: If you have pre-ordered a digital copy of Shadow of the Tomb Raider from the Microsoft Store, your Lara Croft Avatar outfit will be sent to you after the release of the game, as soon as the new Xbox avatars are available to
    all in a future console update!

• Darksiders III
  • Known Issue: Players unable to access the Keepers of the Void or Crucible DLC in-game.
  • Workaround: These DLC items will release in future, and the items within the game are placeholders. These can either be uninstalled, or will be made available when the content launches in future. Any further updates
    
    will be posted to here.
    
• Override: Mech City Brawl
  • Known Issue: Some users unable to access the "Early Access Cosmetic Pack" in-game.
  • Workaround: If you pre-ordered Override: Mech City Brawl and downloaded the "Early Access Cosmetic Pack" before November 12th, 2018, then you will need to uninstall and redownload the content with these steps in order to gain access to
    this content in-game.
    
    
    
    
• All Other Games
  • For all other games, please be sure to contact the game publisher for any in-game issues. To locate the publisher of the game you are searching for, check out the page for that specific game on the
    Microsoft Store here. Once there,
    Search for the game in the top-right corner, select the appropriate game from the Search results. Next scroll down to the
    Additional Information section and check who the game is
    Published By.

I pre-ordered Destiny 2 Forsaken and I STILL cannot play it, nor do I see the extras

Not sure if any of the issues here
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/xba_gapp/known-issues-for-major-game-launches-fall-2018/b1ac114c-7799-4946-b8f8-1c50ad5926d5 apply to you but there are numerous known issues with the expansion. Some have fixes. Hopefully this helps.
