    Known HDMI failure on XBOX One X


    There appears to a known HDMI failure issue on the XBOX One X and my son's console has just fallen victim to it. We have the original XBOX ONE console that is still working well (and through the same HDMI cable/TV that the X was one). Just found out that
    the console is 6 months out of the warranty period as well (of course). I am not paying $249 plus shipping to send it in to Microsoft. If there are any XBOX or Microsoft administrators that see this message I think there have been enough of this type of issue
    to warrant a FREE repair. If any lawyers are on this thread feel free to sign me up for any class action suit that you want to start. Very pi$$ed right now. I was debating sticking with XBOX vs switching PlayStation when the new consoles come out and what
    happens with this issue will determine what next gen console I buy.

    Console was purchased directly from Microsoft. Warranty expired Jan of this year...

    Hey there sorry to hear about the HDMI port failure, when did you buy the Xbox One X console? The store you purchased it from may still have warranty over it, it is worth a shot to try it.

    HDMI failure is common on Xbox One X. This is probably your issue right now.

    The Xbox One X is the only console that has HDMI 2.1. Xbox One S has HDMI 2.0.
    The Xbox One S and One X both use HDMI 2.0,

    The Xbox One uses HDMI 1.4

    The Series X will have HDMI 2.1.

    i would love to see the actual failure numbers as counting here and many many other forums and posts around the good old interweb there seems to be a lot of failures.

    i am wondering if the numbers are close to 360 fail rates as the usual mix of reported issues are:

    loose screws, which can short out anything or break something.

    hdmi chips frying as they did in the xbox one and x.

    hdmi port failures, they seem to be made from very weak metal.

    psu issues where the psu is completely doa.

    board issues where it does not tell the psu to switch on when the power button pressed.

    storage failures.

    disc drive failures.

    APU failures.

    then there is the controller failures too.

    doesn't look good on the Sony side too, they have lots of failures also.

    Probably all down to throwing them together as quickly as possible to get them shipped and quality control has gone out of the window.
