Kinects Mic

    Kinects Mic


    I can't be heard by online gamers thru my Kinects. It hears my voice commands just fine. I can hear others online.

    Day one update - Add the blueray option

    Xbox One comes with Kinect it can be used as a mic. If you don't want to use Kinect as a mic then buy a headset. I have no problem using Kinect as a mic.

    So a couple questions I have is if you are in private chat or group chat with a headset/mic, do you give the XB1 commands through the headset/mic or via the Kinect mic? Also, if you are in private chat or group chat via the Kinect mic, can you still give
    commands to the XB1 through the Kinect mic?

    Hey there nugs830!

    Sorry to hear about the Kinect mic issue! Have you checked if voice chat through the Kinect is enabled? Follow the steps below to check:

    • Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
    • In the Settings menu, select 'Kinect'.
    • Check if 'Use Kinect microphone for chat' is enabled or not. If it is not, go ahead and enable it!

    Mic Broken?

    Have you tried turning off the mic for the kinect? Not sure if the console and the mic are competing with each other but one way to find out is turn off the mic on the kinect

    Start button > Settings > Kinect

    Xbox kinect issue: Mic Icon is always showing

    if you turn the sensor off by going into the kinect settings on the dashboard, it should stop displaying the mic. But if you only turn the kinect mic off, it will still display the mic symbol in the game. As i have one but i just turn the kinect sensor off
    and it turns the mic totally off

    Do voice commands work on new the Kinectless XB1?

    As it stands it is more of a programming issue. The mic system is set differently that the path the kinect takes to function. However if set correctly the kinect can be used as a mic. It is possible, and likely that there will be a function later on to use
    the mic with kinect function (more so considering the mic adapter release with extra functions) but still unlikely soon.
