Kinect

So I'm on my 3rd Kinect for my xbox one the first one kept shutting itself off so it got sent in and replaced the replaced one failed completely after 8 months and was no longer under warranty so I bought a 3rd new one and now it's turning itself off after
a few minutes. It's out of warranty as well and this is more a of a vent post than anything. Does anyone have a fix for this issue that won't require purchasing a 4th kinect or should I switch over to my Playstation with its voice powered controller that's
caked in so much dust it looks like a powdered donut?

If you want Kinect Features, that's why you get a Kinect. Voice Commands is a Kinect Feature, Kinect Privelage. Next people will be asking "can we play Kinect Sports Rivals without Kinect".

When you look at all the other "Hey, my Kinect keeps breaking" threads throughout the Forums I would say that something is wrong at your house.

I don't know what but it may be time to start thinking a little beyond "It's The Kinect's Fault" and consider what outside factors may be causing this to happen because it doesn't happen to everyone else.

 

Could be an issue with your console causing the problems if you've gone through that many Kinects

 

got a day one console and the kinect still going strong, i would definately say get you console checked out, where is the kinect sat, mine is fixed to the wall below the tv and never gets moved.

 

Still on my 2013 Kinect at my place also. Sometimes mine doesn't turn on but that's usually something to do with the preview program and a hard reset usually sets it straight for a few months no problems.

 

My kinect quit working around 6 months . I sent it in to MS and the replacment is still still working.

 

2013 Kinect rocking da house here. Partnered up with my 2016 console!

 

Day one Kinect still working fine as well.

Shame I can't say the same about the disc drive though.

 

Im giving the hard reboot a go but i was thinking it might be the console port as well.

 

I would say go without. It's pretty much pointless now and even a bother at times. You'll lose "xbox record that" but that's pretty much it.

 

It might be communication between the system and the Kinect.

I have a Day One XBone and just recently the Kinect has started turning itself off, stopped recognizing voice commands, and will lose track of players standing in front of it. All of this despite the XBone settings showing it working fine and set to work
in my space.

I've had issues with my box before and had to do a factory reset of the system but these Kinect issues are new. The only way I get it to turn on is by unplugging it and plugging it back into the back of the Xbox.
