Kinect Yay or Kinect Nay

The kinect isn't just a controller, it should be able to dictate content on your body info, but yes its needs a good game to show it off.

 

You don't need Kinect. It's not very good really, but as you can pick up an xboxone bundle with the kinect for about the same price as buying the non-kinect xbox and the same games, then why wouldn't you get one? Hopefully someone will figure out something
fun to do with it in the future, and you'll be glad you don't have to buy one later.

 

Kinect Fitness works rather well....

 

Get one with its brilliant, as u can voice comand play games with the connect. If u missed playing on ur xbox then getting one with kinect will fullfill ur gamering experiance even more lol

 

Kinect Sports Rivals was not that a great a use although after 20 minutes my legs and arms were about falling off. XBox fitness makes really good use of it IMO

 

20 minutes?, think i lasted about 10 lol Kinect worked fine for me with Kinect Sports but i only did the Jet Ski thingy & not touched it since

 

ASDA are selling "The Fighter Within" for £10.00.

While it is certainly not worth it's original retail price it is more than worth a tenner.

My wife and I have not laughed so hard playing a game in a very long while. Local coop is very entertaining... not to mention slightly knackering.

 

Nay. Pointless piece of expensive hardware, based on my experience so far. You say Xbox on, a couple of times at least, and it turns on. That's great, but the controller stays off, so you have to press the on button any. That completely negates using kinnect
to turn it on. Why??

Then there's watching a film. Xbox pause, again a few times for it to work. Great if your hands are full, but quicker to press a button again. Same with many voice commands. Nice idea, in practice though, it's not great.

The voice commands work fine for me lol I would say is it calibrated right but you mentioned that so not sure, shame it seems to work for some but not others

 

Works for me 99% of the time. Can't see why having to press a button on a piece of kit you have to pick up to play a game negates the convenience of turning the console itself on by voice either.

 

So why bother with saying Xbox in if you need to press the on button anyway? Is there an option I'm missing in settings that enables the controller to turn on at the same time?

 

You have to pick the controller up what's the big deal with pressing the button? It doesn't turn on because you may not use it, if I'm going to watch Netflix for example I dont need to pick it up. And if you can't see the convenience of walking into the
living room and saying "Xbox on". And having it on, signed in and ready to rock , before you even pick up the controller that's up to you. Personally for me it's a huge step forward.

Yes you have to pick the controller up, which isn't a big deal. That's my point. If it's not a big deal to pick it up, it's not a big deal to turn the console on with it. It takes seconds for the console to turn on and be ready to use(which is great), so
I see no reason to have to wait for the controller to turn on too(which takes longer than expected), when there's a possibility it could turn on at the same time as the console via voice. To me it just feels like I'm turning on 2 things separately when there's
no need. It's this kind of thing that makes me question if the extra expense it cost is worth it. And with the new sku, it seems that Microsoft have pretty much decided it's not worth it.

I do see that for some, it's worth it though

 

As I say, I guess it's because there are times when you would turn the console on but not the controller. Wouldn't hurt to have it as an option though.

 

To call someone out in public you use to have to go to a pay phone, it was no big deal but redundant now.
