Kinect Yay or Kinect Nay

Hi All Again

As stated in my last thread I have definatly decided to trade of my PS4 and come back to XboxOne as theres some games I really miss and as I said I feel PS4 is lacking something for me.

Anyhoo my next question is do I go for one with a Kinect or without.

Do people still use the Kinect after all is it just another useless add on,i did quite like the turning on and off the Xbox with it but that was all I really used it for before,oh and "Xbox record that" I did use that aswell.

What do you guys say - Kinect Yay or Nay.

Kinect: Yay, Maybe, or Nay

Nay. I've had one since December and have played it no more than 5 hours since then. It's terribly boring and a complete waste of money. It's a gimmick.

I picked one up for the family last Christmas. It really is an awesome device, but it isn't something that gets used alot. I need to pick up the Kinect Sports or something. No one dances, Kinectimals was done in 3 days, the game that came with it is...blah.
Is it necessary? No not yet. Maybe in a year once the support really gets under way, but for the most part its meant for kids. It is an awesome device though....but I have no excitement for any of the games coming (my kids will for a few), but I am excited
in regards to the support it is starting to get from the triple A games I will own like ME3. Maybe I am old school but I work, that gets me up and moving, when I want to play a game, I want my feet up, a controller, the surround sound, etc. If I am gonna
be active, I have been investing in Rockband for years and years....I will play that lol.

 

For gaming its a joke as a tool to be used with the system its invaluable. Wouldnt be without it. Its been created around having it cant see any point not getting it

Good for games, good for navigation, IMO just good.

Funny how the people who have it recommend it and the people who don't have it and are jealous of the people who have it tell you to stay away from it.

Whoever said Kinect was good for games is telling porkies its awful. But as I said great for nvigation etc

 

@Zaccy What games have you played with kinect?

 

Ive used it for Kinect Sports which is an awful game compared to the previous versions sports games. Ive used it for little voice things like formations etc in FIFA and other voice command games and also Fighter Within. Its a gimmick which is lame for games
although the sports games on the 360 version were immesnse to be fair. It is fantastic for using with the system though abnd some voice in some games but for actual games its rubbish and always will be unless your a 10 year old girl

 

The next Xbox will have a camera and not a Kinect you can quote me on that

 

Works well in DR3, Ryse and I like the demo of Kinect sports, I thought the jetskiing was good. Still early days, and games are not next gen yet, give it time and one insperational development team......

 

I hope someone does make a great Kinect game but I just dont think most gamers want to stand about flapping. But as a voice control within games and navigation its 10-10. Adecent sports party game is whats required but the Sports game we gotr recently was
abysmal in comparison to the 360 versions which was surprising

 

I agree I don't use it to play games as I've not got the room at the moment, however for voice commands it's great,

 

Now that there's a Kinect-less SKU I can't see a vast amount of games being made that use it.

As it was, before the U-turn announcement, it was rarely used in 3rd party multi-platform titles.

It's useful for saying "Xbox Record That" and works well in Dead Rising 3, although your enjoyment of the game will be no less if you don't have a Kinect.

In all honesty, I'd save your money.
