Kinect / xbox one voice control

Dear Support,

Since a week i'm the proud owner of a new Kinect for xbox one. only I can not get any voice commands to work ??

xbox, turn off as a simple example, does not work. If i'm playing a demo game with Kinect support, I can give commands in THAT game so it DOES hear me ;-)

my account in is region dutch, my system settings are at united states, engilsh.

Power settings are set to instant on, but Xbox ON does not work either.

Kinect is set to ON in settings, use Kinect for Chat is set to off

Can you assist or give suggestions on what to try??? do you need any other settings?

Can you use the xbox 360 Kinect to turn on the console??

No, this feature is exclusive to the xbox one console. This is one of the many features that makes the Xbox One a new gen Console.

But still, if you are having any trouble with your 360 kinect voice commands, I have this helpful link.

Kinect voice control.

A couple of years back I bought the much advertised Kinect sensor.

I live in Sweden and I want to ask when Microsoft will enable so that I can use the Kinect voice controls in english?

I understand that Swedish voice controls will never happen, so I want to use the english voice controls when I'm online - just as I can do when I change my localization and unplug the Xbox from Live, and just as I can do inside some games like Forza 4.

Considering voice control was one of the key selling points with the Kinect sensor this is a question I really want to have answered.

So, when will all of us be able to change the language for the Kinect voice controls so that we can use them?

My Kinect setup works just fine too. I run the troubleshooter and the setup works, but Kinect does not react to voice commands.

No issues here with Kinect either. The voice commands and gesture controls work well, especially the voice commands. I love being able to control my Xbox One and TV without picking up a remote or controller. Is it worth the extra $100? I think so, it definitely
adds to the overall experience of the Xbox One, but I can see why people would want a Kinect-less version.

The Xbox One works just fine without the Kinect. You lose the ability to use voice control and camera control which some games try to take advantage of, but on the whole, the console works without Kinect plugged in.

I believe the Xbox one is built around the Kinect. When you're using those voice commands you're actually talking to the Kinect which controls the Xb1. So I highly doubt removing the Kinect is in any of Microsofts plans.

[/quote]lol, that about sums up kinect, a great concept, but other than voice control it has no real use for a gamer on Xbox, but connect it to a PC and it's a different device i believe...
