1. Kinect: Voice controlled Features.

Hi Everyone,

Not so long ago, my friend had a serious accident that has left him unable to move. His day to day activities that we all perform with ease are a struggle and he will often require assistance.

I know the Kinect has a wide range of functions that are controlled via voice but was hoping to hear from you all as to what would benefit someone who could not use a controller or gestures as I personally do not use the Kinect equipment.

As my knowledge is very limited in this area, if anyone was to know of any other equipment or similar that could perform voice controlled actions like answering Skype calls, watching TV, and so on please let me know.

Thank you in advance,

.

:)

Buying an XBox One, with or without Kinect ?

If your just into gaming. Then get it without Kinect.
If your going to use it for Skype, voice control etc then go for Kinect.

However personally Kinect is a useless feature.

Will Xbox One recognize voice commands from a headset

If you want Kinect Features, that's why you get a Kinect. Voice Commands is a Kinect Feature, Kinect Privelage. Next people will be asking "can we play Kinect Sports Rivals without Kinect".

4. Kinect: Voice controlled Features.

I would go with a windows 8.1 or 7 machine using the included voice recognition or better yet coupled with Dragon voice assistant. Reason being on a Windows machine with voice recognition or Dragon voice assistant you can create custom voice macros instead
of having to rely on whatever Xbox One happens to respond to. On top of that the voice recognition is better and faster plus you can get any wireless headset, wired headset, dedicated microphone setup. Will pick up your voice much more clearly than a Kinect
across the room which is trying to also filter out background noise and is often a low priority task trying to use as little system resources as possible on the 360 and Xbox One.

Takes some setting up, but for your purposes the extra capability and flexibility seems needed.

Kinect ruining everything.MS so shady
I am missing out. They added a feature to a service I paid for. Then they tell me I can only use it with Kinect even though its voice command and I have a mic. That is a horrible thing to do with your paying customers. If Ms is going to add a voice feature to
bing. Kinect should be an option. They are saying to all their paying customers. You need to pay use again. For a feature that we already have. They have a voice feature ..its called a mic..they have had it since launch.
You are looking at it incorrectly.

They added a voice feature to Kinect to control the Dashboard. They did
not add a voice feature to the "service that you pay for".

Can you use the xbox 360 Kinect to turn on the console??

No, this feature is exclusive to the xbox one console. This is one of the many features that makes the Xbox One a new gen Console.

But still, if you are having any trouble with your 360 kinect voice commands, I have this helpful link.

Glad to help.

Ok so you have said "xbox on"

Might kinda suck for a lot of people who don't want the kinect, but the voice control is one really cool feature.

Do voice commands work on new the Kinectless XB1?

don't think so. It's sad too since there is literally no reason to require users to have fancy camera to use voice controls. MS could have easily enabled voice commands to work with any compatible headset, but they wanted to make Kinect seem more appealing
as voice controls are it's most useful feature.
