    Hi guys, I'm from New Zealand and recently we have just gotten an update that enables voice commands to be used. Unfortunately mine still isn't working, nothing I say is registering. I don't even get the pop up after I say Xbox. How can this be fixed? I've
    calibrated the Kinect a dozen times already and its always been successful. Also recently my headset mic hasn't been working. Dunno what's going on. I can use the Kinect to talk through Skype, so it isn't broken. There just seems to be nothing else I can do
    to get it to work.

    3 hard resets since update...?

    I've been having issues with the Kinect mic. Twice now, the "Xbox On" command has worked, but then the Kinect has failed to recognize commands. It still hears things as shown by the mic calibration tool, but just doesn't do anything. A hard reset gets it
    working again, but it's frustrating when this update was supposed to improve voice commands.

    Have you tried Hard Reset?

    (15sec. PowerButton untill full shutdown - unplug everything - wait 30sec. - Start Up again)

    It is difficult to say, perhaps to Remake the Language Settings in Systemsettings can also Help.

    Perhaps try it to Change to Australia,UK or US. I know it is another Accent, but I also Need to take another (German-Germany and not German - Austria) because Austria did not work at all.. You can set up to send your Voice to MS to investigate(make it better)

    Solution... Change your location to UK.

    Go to settings > System > Language/Location > Change location to United Kingdom.

    Solution... Change your location to UK.

    Go to settings > System > Language/Location > Change location to United Kingdom.

    Turning off voice commands completely

    Voice commands will only work if you have a kinect or a headset. Cortana has to be turned on first before you use her voice commands, and if you do not have a kinect, then the Xbox voice commands will not be turned on.

    Is Kinect dead?

    You don't need Kinect for voice commands. Voice commands worked just fine in Tom Clancy's End War without the need for Kinect. There are also professional grade microphones that sell for cheaper than the Kinect. The device never should have been the mandatory
    option for voice commands. The mic really does underperform and ironically, Microsoft hasn't even released the microphone specs. If you bought a motion device that costs over 100.00 to use for voice commands much old the time, you have pretty much been had.
