    Ok this is my second Xbox kinect on the same xbox console i believe its an S . The kinect Was working fine then the console updted like it does every 2 seconds now and the darn thing stopped working now just throws error your kinect isnt connected. which
    is a lie . the light comes on, then blips off and on...basically taunting me...the icon of the kinect appears in the top rt corner of the home screen then blips off ive unplugged, replugged , rebooted etc and even bought a totes different kinect w same results.
    no soap...if anything needs repaired IT'S THE CONSOLE im guessing. and if so will they send me another xbox while im waiting since i paid for the game pass and xbox live ultimate and X Y Z? cus yea this is an issue they created either through shawdy workmanship
    or lack lust programming on thee updates either way. Im bout to be done w xbox and microsoft here in a sec...lookin at you sony! lol might be getting a bunch of new customers. cus yea i dont wanna pay for accessories that get updated into oblivion. just need
    to know exctly why this seems to keep happening to folks and why they dont fix it in an update since thats how they semed to have broken it...again it was fine b4 the console is fairly new so not sure what else it could be. HELP!

    its under the Kinect>? at least for the power setting part... not sure... I am at work.... but I know the 3 options are XBOX OFF turn off Kinect, Turns off Kinect & TV Turns off Kinect TV and Receiver .. XBOX ON turns on etc etc etc

    Those are the IR blasters. It's how your Kinect tells your stuff to turn on/off/up etc.

    Why you cant unplug the kinect

    Yes you can turn off certain functions on the kinect but the IR sensor for the controller can not be turned off no IR sensor no controller....and the kinect will be mandatory for some games.........but the main point is the controller and kinect are controls.......all
    the xbox one sensors are part of the kinect thats why you cant unplug or wrap it in a towel duct tape it and hide it......if you need the kinect to sync it why else couldnt you unplug the kinect other than thats where the controller sensor is located.....plus
    the xbox contoller will have similar functions to the ps3 controller flip it to block punch etc shake it to get a zombie off etc

    Looks like it was a hardware issue the whole time. I exchanged my Kinect for another one at Gamestop and this one seems to be working fine. I streamed for several hours today and it stayed on the whole time.
