Kinect Sensor turns off and on every 30 seconds

Not sure if this belongs here or accessories as it wasn't specified in the split announcement but I apologize if I did it wrong. I just completed a P90X session on Xbox Fitness and it crashed to the home screen, I immediately went back into it to make sure
it saved my sessions stats as I'm trying to get a late start on the 12 5 star ratings for the challenge. After about 30 seconds it flashed a message saying the Kinect sensor was unplugged and then after about 1 second it came back on. the first time I thought
little of it, until it did it again, and again, etc. I checked for a loose connection at the back of the console and it was plugged in securely. What does this mean? Is my sensor failing or overheating? it's on top of my entertainment center so it can't be
because lack of air flow. Please Help!

Kinect 2.0 Turning Off And On Randomly

I would reboot the console first, and then reset the Kinect Sensor. See this link, scroll down to "Reset your Kinect Sensors Connection"

Rebooting: With the console on, press and hold the power button on the console for 5 seconds until it shuts off. Unplug the power supply, wait about 30 seconds and then plug it in and reboot. You should see the green Xbox One splash screen upon reboot.
It may take a minute to boot all the way to the home screen.

 

mass effect kinect help

when I was playing mass effect andrimeda my character went through the ground when I fast travel to that spot so I power cycle my console for 10 seconds then I wait for 30 seconds then I turn on my console but my Kinect sensor would n t turn on so
I unplug my sensor then I plug it back in then my sensor turn on fine and I started my game . my character didn t went through the ground. I not sure why my Kinect turn off . I not sure because of a wall outlet that I know been used in the past. this Kinect
I bought 2 weeks ago. I keep thinking might the wall outlet

This could very well be hardware / software / or airflow problems

What I would do is, make sure that the cable is firm in the XB One system, and Kinect Sensor.

I Would also do a hard power off, on the Xbox. (From an ON state, holding power button for 5 seconds)

Regards to air flow, you can try to change position on both the XB One and kinect sensor, just try it from another angle and position to see if the error still persists.

If you still have the same error I would advice that you should try and get a replacement Kinect. (Borrow a friends kinect for a couple of minutes). And see if it is the kinect sensor or Xbox one that is the problem.

When thats done you know what hardware is failing, and you should contact Microsoft Support for a replacement.

I resolved the issue myself, it was a conflict after Xbox Fitness crashed. I did a hard reboot, held the power button for 5 seconds, then unplugged the console for 10 seconds. Upon rebooting it worked fine.
