Your Console is connected to the internet but cant contact Xbox Live

Its down for me and a lot of people. even the kids kinect wont turn on. There better be a Reimbursement coming and a replacement for the Damn Kinect if it is damaged due to stupidity. Class action Lawsuit!!!

If you'd like a reimbursement, return the console where you bought it.

The Titanfall bundle is still $500 anyway. So, say you bought the Kinect-less $400 console and then paid $60 for the Titanfall, you pretty much got a Kinect for only $40, which is a great deal.

 

Microsoft has done everything to please their customers. They've changed the DRM policies, always online policy and now removing the kinect. They've heard their consumer base and responded by making those changes. Microsoft should have our respect and support
because it's tough admitting that things were wrong and then to turn around and have the courage to change it.

 

I agree with the OP. Kinect never worked as advertised (and I never wanted it). I don't know how a company can invest so much in an unproven product. I don't think MS should be obligated to reimburse us, however.

 

This is ridiculous ! When I bought the NES it came with 2 controllers, light gun and super Mario/ duckhunt. Later they releases a different version without the lightgun. Did I feel the entitled to get money back? No. Same can be said with every console
I have ever bought. Different packages become available . You bought what you did and knew what you were buying. You are not entitled to getting money refunded or any other form of reward because you willingly purchased a product. Enjoy what you have.
You have the most complete version of the ONE. I've quite enjoyed mine since launch.

 

Hey, guess what! Because that spy camera you purchased the first go around was using so much systems resources, MS is releasing a kinectless version of the Xbox one that will be faster than the original. Not only did you spend $499 for something you never
wanted, the kinectless Xbox will be faster. Good ol M$ is going to get you to buy 2 xbox's in 6 months and they didn't even have to RROD you to do it bwwwwhhahahahhahahahhahah, serves you right for even buying one in the 1st place.

The Day One buyers who are upset at Microsoft for DisKinecting this "integral" part of the system should redirect their anger at themselves for falling for this simple Sales Pitch. You bought it, hook, line and sinker and should learn from your mistake
if you really want to get something out of it. M$ invested MILLIONS in researching & developing this unnecessary accessory over a period of YEARS and the only way to get even a small portion of that back to their disgruntled shareholders was to piggyback
it onto the ONE. In order to justify the higher priced console because of the Kinect, Microsoft had to SELL the idea long before most had given them their money. They had you believe that the developers were excited about its implementation, but had you
done more research from sources OTHER THAN M$ you'd have found that many developers were unhappy about dipping into their all ready strained budgets to accommodate this "vision" that wasn't a part of their original game designs, it wasn't just the majority
of 360 users who didn't want the Kinect but the developers themselves who felt the same way about it. They've milked it for all they can and now it's time to limp into E3 with a fresh list of Sales Pitches for your Christmas List convenience.



One of the major components to the ONE's launch strategy was its deal with Skype, and the deal wouldn't have been possible without the Bundled Kinect in place for obvious reasons. What does Skype, something that's been around for longer than the 360, have
to do with gaming anyway? How many 'MASS Effect 3' players actually regularly use the Kinect features included with this title? I'd be extremely surprised if it's even remotely close to 1% of them! The publisher likely received concessions on Microsoft's
share of the 360 game sales for plastering a Big Purple 'Better With Kinect' Banner at the very top of the Boxart for this Multi-Million selling title in the hopes that it would sell more unwanted Kinect units, but the game is so obviously 'Better WITHOUT
Kinect' and anyone who took this particular Sales Pitch literally has no more right to "reimbursement" than the OP here does for his ONE console. It's the price of an education, next time when contemplating what would be a major purchase for the vast majority
of the population, make an INFORMED PURCHASE based on multiple sources involved throughout the Bigger Picture. E3 is just around the corner, the event is a Cesspool of SALES PITCHES and many of you now disappointed ONE owners will soon have the chance to
learn from your previous blunder, and those who claim to be happy with their purchase can continue to attempt to convince those who are not that they in fact made the right choice, but in my opinion, they sound more to me like they're trying to convince themselves
here for we all know that nobody likes to admit that they were wrong about something....

 

So, it's my fault that I believed what Microsoft spokesmen said when they were SPECIFICALLY asked, by both media and users, if the X1 would be sold without the Kinect and they emphatically stated that it would not?

There was no wiggle room in their responses, they directly and pointedly stated it would not.

Well, excuse me for believing that a supposedly reputable Fortune 500 company, the size and magnitude of a Microsoft, would turn out to have the integrity of a common gutter snipe (with apologies to common gutter snipes).

We shouldn't be beating ourselves up over trusting what Microsoft said regardless of how many Microsoft apologists laugh at us.

It shouldn't be the exception that a company acts with class and integrity, but in this case it is.

If Microsoft had any class, the second thing they did after deciding to split those two devices should have been figuring out how to compensate/make whole any consumers that had purchased based on the tall tales we were told.

 

The interviewer presumed Xbox One would never be sold without kinect, and he asked a few different things there, and I read it that Phil said he was correct in his presumptions, he did not ask, will Xbox One ever be sold without kinect, any time that was
asked, the answer was, we have no intentions or plans to.

 

i can understand your disappointment, but get over it already, life doesn't happen the way we want it to, just imagine where we'd be right if MS stuck with their original plan, always online, Kinect required, and now a Kinect in every box, things change.

if you had some class, you'd write it off as an investment that didn't pan out. MS is doing this to remain competitive which is why they are doing things like removing the paywall, Games with Gold and Deals with Gold, you don't need any compensation.

 

Yes, imptown, frankly it IS your fault in believing this crap and it's hardly the first time that this Corporation has abandoned its plans as soon as the going gets rough. They've proven many times over that they're only really interested in the next quarterly
and won't commit to ANYTHING long term, especially with games (try logging into 'Games for Windows LIVE' after July 1st this year and see what happens). The bright side is that you now own an input suite that's the fruit of years worth of research & development
by Microsoft, but if you thought that it was gonna revolutionize the way that we play video games then I don't know what else to say to you, all you had to go on was a Sales Pitch..

 

Next time, speak with your wallet. I would have purchased a Day One if Kinect was not bundled. I have the first generation Kinect and it's a brick. I didn't want another one so I held off on an XO purchase and "complained". I guess it's true, the squeaky
wheel gets the grease.

I'm having a hard time believing anything Microsoft says lately.... Unfortunately, I see the XO as a "entertainment hub" instead of a game console. Not good.
