KINECT PROBLEMS

I'd like to report 2 problems.

The first. Is that I can't do the live chat message help thing.

It says to enter my first name and last name.

The email is already entered but the Names spaces are grey and left blank.

So I can't start a conversation because its bugged.

Now the real problem.

My Kinect does not work. It worked fine a month ago or so. But now as I try to play the game it doesn't turn on at all.

I tried turning on and off. Cleaning it. Cleaning xbox 360.

But nothing works.

Not sure when you had this problem but there was a service alert out yesterday that caused this problem wide spread. If you are still having this issue today and there is not a service alert out (support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status)
please let us know.

 

First thing you should try is opening the camera app on your smart phone and aiming it at the front of your connect, making sure you can see all of it. While pointing your camera at the Kinect, issue a common voice command. If you see lights come on your
Kinect while looking through your camera, your sensors are still okay.

Beyond this, I need more info to assist you further.

 

Is your Kinect light on? Is your Kinect powered properly? Is it plugged in? Try a different USB port on your console. Does your console detect the Kinect? Does it complete the boot up process? Do you see yourself in the bottom right corner of the screen?

I do not see myself at the bottom of the screen , the Kinect light is not on , My console does not detect the Kinect.

I do not know what you mean by boot up process. Also my Xbox has a specificly marked orange/red line to indicate where the Kinect cable is supposed to be put in.

It is plugged in although my xbox cannot detect it.

 

You may need to check your power cable to your kinect.
