Kinect plugged in but not working

Is my kinect broken or something? It was working perfectly last night and then when I come home, the kinect light doesn't turn on, mind you its plugged in and my Xbox one thinks so also because it shows the Xbox logo in the top right and doesn't say kinect
unplugged. Should I get a replacement or something? Also when I go to settings ->kinect, I don't even get a option to turn it on, it just says with kinect you can use features, chat and etc.

Voice Commands will not control TV or Audio Receiver anymore

Posting as well to follow here. I have the One S with a kinect plugged in. It toggles my soundbar and controls volume fine but won't control my Samsung TV (model # UN65HU8700FXZA) at all. At first before I got the kinect adapter I thought the IR blaster
on the One S was being blocked in my cabinet but it was controlling the soundbar right under the TV fine as well as not working on the TV without obstructions. Now I have the kinect plugged in and I'm not sure which part is sending the IR commands, the front
of the console or the kinect, but it's still not working.

kinect just stopped turning on.

my kinect just stopped working one day. the kinect is plugged in properly, the kinect is turned on in settings. how can the kinect sensor just stop working with no warning? tried turning everything off and unplugging everything for a few minutes, plugging
everything back in and turning it on. kinect still not turning on.

OK mate if this doesn't work it will need repair/exchanged

1 Unplug console from mains then unplug Kinect

2 Plug console back in and power up

3 Go to settings select Kinect

4 Plug Kinect into console wait for it to be recognized around 10 seconds recalibrate Kinect

Any One game will work on any version of the One. The One S does need a Kinect adapter to be able to plug the Kinect into it if you are using a Kinect.

Powered off, reseated the kinect plug, powered on, and it started working.

I had this happen the other day as well with my kinect when my power surged and the kinect wouldn't turn on. I had to unplug the kinect, and the console. Wait a minute, plug in console and boot it up. I then went to settings->Kinect and it asked me to plug
in my kinect. When I plugged it in the kinect turned on and all was good. Couldn't get the kinect to boot up any other way, even unplugging kinect and waiting, doing a full shutdown. Nothing worked except what I said above.
