Kinect on and off by itself

My kinect started to act weird only after couple months using it. It seems to be disconnected and connected again and again by itself.

There seems to be no pattern in terms of how long it stays connected and disconnected and doesnt really affect if I try to move the kinect itself.

Need your help please......

Kinect keeps turning off by itself

My Kinect has been turning off since I bought the xbox one 3 years ago first kinect I had to unplug whole system 2nd kinect I bought I had to unplug kinect from the back. Would turn on and off and stay off till I unplugged it and was sluggish with my voice
commands. When verizon fios upgraded me from a generation 2 router to a generation 3 router a few weeks ago both kinects work very well and never turns off or miss a voice command. It has something to do with the router.

 

Can you unplug it, power cycle the console (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) and after the console has booted back up, turn it off, plug the Kinect back in
and then power up the console?

Let us know if that makes a difference.

 

I did try that. No luck. Same problem still occur.

 

I appear to have the same issue. This suggestion did not resolve the issue with the Kinect powering off/on at arbitrary times.

 

I also have this same issue, some days works fine, other days intermittent powers on and off

 

I am having this same problem - After a few minutes of turning my Xbox on, the Kinect cycles off and on, until it finally shuts off completely. I've chatted with support and tried just about everything, but nothing seems to fix it. And my warranty is expired
so it costs 89.99 to get the thing repaired by Microsoft, when I can buy a brand new one for the same price!

Am I just SOL here? Been a loyal Xbox customer for a long time, and really feel cheated here - I (foolishly) trusted that Xbox gave me a reliable, working product that would work beyond 1 year. Was I wrong in thinking that, Microsoft?

 

I am having this issue as well. But my Kinect has been having an issue turning off since I got it I only just noticed today that it was on and off again. I believe mine is still under warranty, I will call MS and update here if they have a viable solution.

I was having the same issue with my Kinect turning off randomly and then finally turning off completely. The hard reboot or unplugging the kinect worked, but only for the short term.

Then I read a post about the cable that connects the Kinect to the Xbox One can be the cause of the issue. I made sure nothing was pulling on the cord and then pushed it in at the point where it attaches to the Kinect. It has been 4 weeks and I've only
had one issue with the Kinect turning on and off. I promptly pushed the cord back in and haven't had a problem again.

I doubt that this will work for everyone, but it has solved my issues. And at least it is better than buying a new one. I hope this solution works for you.

 

I am having this problem too. I am in the preview program and it started with the betas for the march update. It crashes randomly while watching TV and almost always crashes when bringing up the side guide. It's driving me nuts >_<
