Kinect not working

yesterday my kinect worked just fine, today it no longer will turn on. When i go to kinect settings it says its not plugged in but i checked it and its plugged. I even tried doing full reset unplugging the kinect with it and turning back on. Any other suggestions
or is it a paper weight?

Had the same problem after the update....My X1 booted to a green X1 screen for several minutes the kinect never turned on with the console....i just powered off the X1 and put it back on and everything worked fine after that lol.

First I would like to apologise if this is a double post, I've tried looking haven't found my particular issue.

Now, the issue.

For the last few weeks my kinnect has been intermittently not working. Sometimes going through the troubleshoot process works but no longer. The kinnect does not light up or work in anyway, and none of support pages seem to help. Id really rather not
have to send the kinnect off to get fixed but if it must be, its must.

Same issue here. I have a Day One edition, so its out of warranty now. Microsoft wants $69 to fix what is likely a software issue. Nothing i found online fixes the issue either. I think for me, my kinect as disconnected during an update and now the console
wont recognize the kinect.

 

My just stopped working after an update also. I didn't have it plugged in during the update. Did everything posted online, but nothing worked. My warranty just expired 2 weeks ago as it was a Christmas present last year.

 

I have the same from time to time, usually a hard reboot or two fixes it.

@Mister Quimby. The issue is that we have all tried the trouble shooting guide and any other online support and Microsoft wants us to pay $69 to repair the Kinect that was not damaged by us, but by an update in software. How is that "HELPING" us at all???

I for one will not hand over $69 to Microsoft + shipping to repair this problem which MICROSOFT is responsible for causing. The will simply update the software and send it back to me..

Just give me a way to do it myself. Sending it back to you is simply an irresponsible and lazy fix on MICROSOFT.

It is a wideley known issue that from DAY ONE, the Kinect has had similar issues and they replaced all Kinects for free.

WE ARE SIMPLY ASKING FOR A FIX OR FREE REPLACEMENT on MICORSOFTS caused problem.
