Kinect not working with original Xbox One

    Kinect not working with original Xbox One


    I have an original Xbox One and Kinect. The problem is the Kinect doesn't appear to be working. I turn on the console and the Kinect doesn't turn on. When the problem first occurred, I was able to fix it, by unplugging the Kinect and then plugging it back
    in. Eventually, that stopped working. It might come on for a few minutes, but would shortly turn itself back off.

    I was then able to fix it by doing a hard reset. I'd completely shutdown the console, unplug the Kinect, unplug the Xbox's power, wait a few minutes, and plug everything back in and turn it on and the Kinect would work. I thought this resolved it as it worked
    for a couple of weeks at one point. Now, even that doesn't work. Yes, when I plug everything back into the Xbox and power it on, the Kinect will initially turn on, but it will shut off within 10 minutes.

    New Kinect has been working with my original Xbox One flawlessly. It seems to be the Kinect that's the problem.

    If it is an original Xbox One, then the Kinect commands and games still work and of course no adapter required. As you mention you have it plugged in, I assume you have the original Xbox One.

    Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with the Kinect for your Xbox One. It sounds like the Kinect is slowly giving out on us, have you been able to test out the Kinect on a different Xbox One to see if the issue remains the same or if it works properly
    on a different device.

    My Kinect still works fine on the original Day 1 Xbox One that I have, however I have to use an adapter to get it to work with my Xbox One X.
