Kinect not working for live TV

    Kinect not working for live TV


    Was hoping somebody could help me troubleshoot because I'm not sure what is wrong. I've just started trying to setup my Xbox One with my Cable box and have been running into issues, the Voice Commands aren't working to the right channel, for instance whenever
    I say "Watch CBS" it'll go to channel 0 and start the On Demand overlay, or for instance if I say "Watch Nick Jr" it'll send me to around channel 33 TVland. I can use the controller to jump channels but the Kinect isn't working.

    Location: New Jersey.

    Cable Provider: Comcast.

    Have tried completely starting the TV/Cable setup process over and that didn't work.

    Posting as well to follow here. I have the One S with a kinect plugged in. It toggles my soundbar and controls volume fine but won't control my Samsung TV (model # UN65HU8700FXZA) at all. At first before I got the kinect adapter I thought the IR blaster
    on the One S was being blocked in my cabinet but it was controlling the soundbar right under the TV fine as well as not working on the TV without obstructions. Now I have the kinect plugged in and I'm not sure which part is sending the IR commands, the front
    of the console or the kinect, but it's still not working.

    Live TV not working

    Ever since I was in the Program for months. I have had issues with Live TV being a complete black screen for minutes on end and not even working. I tried everything. Ever since that happened, all I had to do was troubleshoot and TV reset and it fixes the
    problem. Well today, for over 3 hours, it has not even worked. I tried multiple TV resets and everything Support told me to try and it still didnt work.

    I plugged the 360 in and it worked so it has to be rejecting my cable. So up to now, I still cant watch tv.

    Any fixes??

    do your other kinect commands work... like the simple ones... Xbox goto Forza... Xbox volume up etc etc

    Yes the Kinect itself works fine these problems only occur when trying to watch TV.

    Things like "Xbox Mute" or "Xbox Oneguide" will work, but whenever I change the channel or say "Watch XXX" it brings up the wrong channel, or brings up on demand instead.

    How is the Kinect 2 ????

    I'm not sold on kinect 2 yet - seldom works when I ask it to. Kinect 1 works fine however. The jury is still out however as the 360 kinect is mounted on top of the tv, whereas the X1 kinect is on the TV stand. Near the TV speakers. & the screaming kids.
    Which is what I put ti down to. Gonna get a TV mount for it then make a proper judgement call then.

    Put the kinect on top of the tv is my sugestion. I have a crown kinecty tv mount and it works ok also you can enter the kinect tuner and manually adjust the kinect angle
