    Kinect not recognized Xbox One


    So, basically my Xbox One kinect was working fine when I left for work one day got home that aftenoon and it wasn't working. I've called support and they suggested I send it in for repairs/replacement. Just seems odd to me that it was working fine when I
    left and not when I got home. My Xbox wasn't even on while I was at work. Also seems odd that it happened around the same time as the October update. When I got home I tried to get my Xbox to power on using the kinect voice commands and it didn't come on.
    So I powered it on using my controller. I didn't really pay it any mind. It was a couple of days before I noticed the kinect was not even on. I can't remember which day specifically it was but it was the week of the October update. I followed all the troubleshooting
    steps listed in support and it's still not recognizing my kinect. The customer service rep ensured me that the update couldn't have caused it because the update didn't include any firmware updates to the kinect. I've checked the power cord for damage it all
    looks fine. I have the original release day Xbox/Kinect bundle. I guess after this long winded explanation my ACTUAL question is: Are there known issues with the Kinect and do I just need to send it in like they said? I use my Xbox daily! It's pretty much
    became my main entertainment source for everything from Netflix to gaming! I really don't want to be without it for weeks while it's being repaired!

    I regret to say I do not have an Xbox One Kinect. But, this maybe a situation where the Kinect itself needs to be updated, see Update your Kinect sensor at "Your
    Xbox One Kinect Sensor won’t turn on    ". Also, you can find more information at "Troubleshoot issues with the Xbox One Kinect Sensor" and "Kinect
    sensor isn't recognized by your Xbox One S or original Xbox One console    ". Let us know if this helps.

    Sorry to hear about the Kinect issue! When you spoke to phone support, which troubleshooting steps did they have you perform? Just so that we're on the same page! Kinect not recognized Xbox One :)

    Kinect Games Backward Compatible

    Xbox 360 Kinect games can only be played with Kinect on Xbox 360 and it would be recognized if you attempt to plug the Kinect Xbox 360 to the Xbox One.

    Hi there, it may be you need to reset the Kinect sensor connection, to do so give this a try.

    .

    1.Power off the console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    2.Unplug the console’s power.

    3.Unplug the Kinect sensor from the Xbox One console.

    4.Plug the console power back in.

    5.Press the Xbox button on your console to power up the Xbox One.

    6.Press the Menu button on your controller.

    7.Select Settings, and then select Kinect.

    8.Plug the Kinect sensor into the back of the console and wait up to two minutes for it to be recognized.
