Kinect not picking up voice for game chat. Works with Skype etc.

Hi everyone! Ok so I have an issue and after looking tirelessly through the forums and support pages, I have come up with nothing. My issue is that when I'm in a game, I can't chat with anyone. I can hear them but they can't hear me. This is with the Kinect
set to work with game chat through settings. This does not mean the Kinect can't hear me. It accepts commands perfectly. It works with Skype. It worked with twitch last night. I could hear myself through the Kinect on my twitch broadcast while my wife and
I tested it out. However, I will reiterate: I cannot get the Kinect to pass my voice through game chat. My chat headset works fine. However, this is not a viable solution since Microsoft and Turtle Beach have decided to royally screw us wireless headset owners.
I use my xp510s when I game so I can't use the chat headset at the same time. Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, how did you fix it? If not, any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Just to reemphasize my situation: - Kinect game chat is not working
- Kinect works with other apps (such as upload studio, twitch, Skype) - Kinect is set up for chat (checked off under settings->Kinect) - chat headset works but not a viable option for me Thanks for your help in advance everyone.

Chat/microphone not working w/adapter - TB X04's

Hi all,

I've seen several threads regarding distorted party chat and in game chat, but in both party and in-game it seems my microphone isn't being picked up at all. Completed the controller update and managed to get the mic working once, but since then absolutely
nothing.

Works like a charm on Skype and doing voice overs in Upload and the mic also works on my PC.

Anyone else having issues with mics not picking up your voice in game and in party?

 

Skype not hearing me

as above Skype is not picking up voice at all.

I have tried head set and Kinect, recalibrated Kinect, power off, reset everything I could think of.

Kinect still hears me during vice commands

Any ideas??

 

you should really state which game it is..... because for me it works with EVERY GAME expect COD and TITANFALL! so from what i can gather is that it is GAME-specific and not xbox's fault

 

Actually, I didn't state a specific game since it doesn't work on all my games. Granted, I do only have 2 games. Four if you count Killer Instinct and Halo: Spartan Assault. If you'd be willing to party chat with me so I could see if a setting or a game
is the culprit, I would really appreciate it. I have Titanfall and Forza 5 by the way. If you have Forza, have you had any issues with using the Kinect for chat? If you haven't tried, could you? Thanks.

 

ok! i am down to help anyone out! just add me on xbox and i will help asap! sorry for the late reply i am new to the forums so i don't check as much as a should.... and forza 5's kinect game chat worked for me when i had the game no problems! but titanfall
does in fact not pick up the kinect as a game chat mic... i guess that is so people don't have to deal with background noise or loud noises in general... same with call of duty.

 

so what i have gathered... certain games allow the kinect to be used and some don't. forza should be on the do allow side tho i can't check because i don't have it anymore but i know battlefield and 2k14 do allow it
