Kinect no longer recognizing channel names it used to know.

There are really only two channels I watch. MLB Network and Root Sports for pirates games. Both could be tunes into perfectly via kinect (I had to speak "root sports Pitt" to make the latter work.) Neither if these work any longer. It seemed to occur after
an update. Not this most recent one but the one immediately before it. What do I do to make these channels work again?

For added context, they're in my OneGuide favorites and id I'm in the guide and say the name they recognize fine, but as soon as I'm simply watching tv neither will work whatsoever. This is made now frustrating since I know they have worked before.

Hey Cortana Voice Commands

I've been having an issue with the voice commands. Some of them that used to work fine no longer work. I don't know if Microsoft has removed them or if something is wrong with my Kinect.

It works fine when I say "Hey Cortana, show tv guide". If I say a show on the current channels displayed on the guide, it will select it. However, lets say for example I'm in the movie channels section on Starz which is channel 525 on DirecTV. I want to
see what's on channel USA, which is channel 242. If I say "what's on USA", it doesn't do anything. If I say "watch USA", it changes to that channel fine.

When I used to have the OneGuide show DirecTV's guide and said "what's on channel name" it would quickly change to that channel on the guide only and not tune to that channel.

Is the "What's on (channel name)" no longer a command?

Not that I know of, I tried a few times it never worked. Kinect for some reason is not capable of recognizing NBA TV, or NFL Channel.

 

Pardon a few typos. Autocorrect is not my friend. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas?

It happens with my as well. Instead of getting better, it's getting worse. I'm registered in the BETA update program as well and the experience is worse. Little things break with every damn update. The latest .... i press guide, and the cursor is on the
damn avatar icon instead of being at the current channel selected.

 

Why don't you try and rerun your kinect setup. That tends to help with speach recognition. Also you can opt in to send voice to Microsoft to help with Kinect recognition. Hope this helps.
