    Kinect mic question.


    How can I disable my ability to hear people using the Kinect as a mic? Some games don't have an easy way of muting people and I'd prefer to just disable everything about the Kinect on my Xbox One. I purchased my headset so I could communicate with fellow
    gamers, not so I could hear children screaming, babies crying, and a whole list of other activities I'd rather not discuss.

    So a couple questions I have is if you are in private chat or group chat with a headset/mic, do you give the XB1 commands through the headset/mic or via the Kinect mic? Also, if you are in private chat or group chat via the Kinect mic, can you still give
    commands to the XB1 through the Kinect mic?

    [/quote]In the 1st instance you would give commands via the Kinect mic - it's what it was built for & it makes sense that it would work similarly to the Kinect on the Xbox 360 in order to make it more familiar to those who have been using the previous generation
    of Kinect. To answer the second half of your question, yes you can, but your friends will probably hear you give the command as well.

    You can not disable others way of talking. They have to choose to turn off the Kinect as a mic option. If that is there preference, so be it. Just as your status is a mic. And you are an Ambassador, go and look through the multiple texts and quizzes the
    Ambassador program offers you to learn more about Xbox.

    Just a question OP... Did you turn off the Kinect mic (as in, the "use Kinect for chat" to off) before plugging in the headset?
