Well, just to give you an idea of how useful the Kinect can be for that so-called "clunky" interface, here's how to use

    voice commands
    and
    gestures

It's all actually very easy and intuitive to use. Kinect-less Xbox One releasing on June 9. :)

  2. So your solution to idiots not knowing how to program a decent UI is to use the Kinect instead of demanding they actually fix it? Nice. I'm surprised that Lost klown isn't in here defending Kinect too. Maybe he killed himself when this was announced.

  3. Hello "Galactic Geek" & "NoLifeDGenerate" Kinect-less Xbox One releasing on June 9. :)

I know that I'm still on the Xbox 360, but here are my thoughts about the subject that you're discussing...

Personally, I think that the "Kinect 1" and "Kinect 2" are nothing more than an extra peripheral gimic which allows the user to perform functions that could have otherwise been handled by the controller.

With that said, the "Kinect" does have great potential indeed. But it is still being under-utilized.

In regards to the "User Interface", it should be designed well to begin with and the "Kinect" should supplement it (the User Interface), not compensate for its flaws.

Have a nice day or afternoon or night Kinect-less Xbox One releasing on June 9. :)

This is what I don't understand - I've had no issues whatsoever with the UI on the Xbox One, even WITHOUT using the Kinect sensor. So, why does everyone else seem to think it's so clunky? I think it has far more to do with the fact that many of you are simply
not used to it. Once you get used to the idea that it is in fact different from every other console UI in existence, using it becomes easy!

Assuming your cursor starts in the main window tile:

In 0 - 1 button presses, I can access my pins, my home screen, the Xbox One store, and any notification pop-ups. In 1 button press, I can turn on my controller or my console on and do the same to turn them off. In 2 button presses I can access my friends
list and activity feed as well as all of my games and apps (if they are not pinned). I can snap my games and apps in 2 - 3 button presses. I can access any disc in the tray in 3 button presses (if I don't have it start automatically when putting a disc in,
which would be 0 button presses). Everything that opens takes less than 3 seconds which is far better than the Xbox 360, which could take 5 seconds or more (go ahead, feel free to time it). And you guys call this unintuitive?

Take a breath GG. Some people just dont like change. My mother still calls me up to tell her how to play a dvd. She has the same cell phone for 15 years. I know I know if it aint broke dont fix it. I'm not going to defend Kinect. As much as I love it many
dont. I feel when things stop changing they stagnate and die.Microsoft wasnt prepared for the backlash against kinect for which the UI was clearly designed around and now have to acommodate for the non Kinect user. Personally nothing is faster than Xbox play
game or Xbox go to netflix or Xbox get me a beer. Kidding on the last one. Enjoy your xbox for what it is. Accept that changes will be made to stay the same through updates and such. Hopefully people will realise that its not just a gimmick gaming periferal
but an integral part of what MS envisioned for their console. If you dissagree with that vision there ARE other choices out there. Im still glad they gave people a choice but now they complain about this. People will say they shouldve done it like this or
like that but 99.9 % of them arent in charge of Xbox.

I know not all change is good but no change is worse. Its called evolution and adaptation. Some people cant or wont adapt

Some people like change, but only if it's a change for the better.

Some people (MS Fanboys) like any and all change and will accept even gimmicks with the enthusiasm of an eager puppy.

Xbox is giving up on the kinect so I will join them. My second xbox one will be the kinectless version. I trusted their vision against my better judgement and was let down. I prefer the middle button over voic commands. I've yet to see any impressive
game use of the kinect. At least I can save $100 on my 2nd console. Bring on the VR headset!

I see that term fanboy thrown about a lot and Im not even sure what it means. Im well aware of all the gaming options out there and support them too. My thoughts are my thoughts and I have no need to defend them. If I said anything that you found insulting
Mantis that was not my intent. The fact remains that the UI for the Xbox one was designed around Kinect. People complained about Kinect so they offer it without it. Now they have to " fix" it because these same people arent using it the way it was designed
to be used. Im from the atari generation. Ive seen all kinds of change in gaming. If being able to adapt makes me a fanboy (still not sure what that is or if it really applys to me but if it does) then woof woof

X1 UI is probably worse than first one on X360. It's too slow and hard to find half of options.. There was no need to force W8 down gamers throat.

  11. ...and I completely and utterly disagree with you Alex - it's not slow at all and not hard to find other options either. Also, they're not forcing it on you anymore than any other product in existence that has something that you don't like...

I have never used kinect so I don't know if it's missing something but when Compared to the 360 and ps3 it seems a little more clunky to use the interface menus... I guess I will have I get used to how hints are do e on the new system...

    Hello "EnenDaveyBoy" :)

The Xbox 360 versions of Yu-Gi-Oh! only require you to download the game, you don't need to buy the booster packs / structure decks (but they do help out a lot).

Personally, I bought them because they were cheaper than buying the actual cards :)

With that said, Microsoft really needs to get with the program and use the Kinect for TCG games.

Have a nice day or afternoon or night :)
