1. Kinect-less X1 in 2014 predicted?

I think it seems like enough of a nagging point to get MS's attention. I don't see why they would ignore sooooo many people that would like one without. They are successful because of us, so our word should hold some merit. If they want our money, they
are ultimately compelled to give us what we are asking for especially since they are lagging in sales.

:)

it's all about the £$£$£$£ and if they see they are losing out I don't think it will matter what they have "Officially" announced in the past, I really don't.

In my eyes, Microsoft are playing a very dangerous game. With all the backtracking they have done with the Xbox One, they have already lost a lot of credibility and loyalty from me and I presume many others. They may think it’s all about the money, but believe
me, the power of us end-users is where the power is. Because without us, there will be no money!

5. I agree they have lost some credibility. I'm still holding onto my $500.

6. Since multiple topics of the same subject I shall repeat myself....

The kinect is forced due to Microsoft actually wanting developers to take interest in this technology so that motion control becomes a viable market. Think of it this way. You have an appliance which can act as a controller for minor amenities, tracks motion
controls, can track heart rates, and react to voice commands. Developing this in a sprawling market is a process which is nearly impossible in a large scale. You try selling this in an everyday setting and have no buyers. Attach it to a gaming console which
will generally spark interest and promote development and you have a success and a huge leap forward in social technology.

Now, to see this from a gamers side...

It acts as a second control, it react to voice commands which otherwise would require an elaborate control scheme which takes valuable time. Think of how many more processes will be available for gaming. More controls without more buttons. Motion gaming
for those who want it. And a communication device for those who want visual while gaming (not likely to happen but possible in the future. Then again snaping skype while playing a game seems more likely).

All these facts, yet you complain about an extra $100 and being "forced" to buy something the company said was not a separate piece from the system. If you have any issues with an extra bit of money for a great piece of tech then please, find something else
to occupy your time while you roll around in your extra bit of cash which can get you about 1 and 2/3 of a game. I do not deny it is expensive, but so are the games. I welcome your response to this.

Copied from myself on another topic and...

To lay a few things to rest, Microsoft will make profits this year no matter what. If you were to have the kinect 2 as a separate accessory its worth would roughly be around $130-200. Sony is in the middle of a slow running bankruptcy, and it is difficult
for investors to have faith that the company will make a turn around. And yet again, everyone who condemns the kinect two has show they cannot differentiate the Kinect 1 from the kinect 2. Also, lets face it, the concept of an "Average Consumer" is rather
a stretch considering how long the consoles have been out. It is less about short term gain and rather about long term innovation.

Another quote from myself....

if they made a Kinect less xbox, then only to 2 can happen , more x1 are sold, or every one see the Kinect is not need. Ms needs to prove to the non believers they need the Kinect. But k2 less x1 would sell like wild fire. but I doubt they would have x1
without one cuz they keep on saying they its the X1 with the Kinect and wouldn't be the same without it.

Would feel odd.. Xbox One is so far the 2nd most succesful console launch up to date, only behind PS4. I think that shows that Xbox One can pull it off with Kinect just fine. Actually I think the three consoles are nicely different. PS4 being the most basic
kind of "old school game console" with just more power. X1 has the Kinect and cool voice commands and multimedia features
Newsflash! PS4 has voice commands and all the multimedia stuff. It also has things the x1 doesn't like iplayer, streaming, twitter
& facebook integration. "basic"!

if MS dropped kinect 2.0 for x1, i will never buy any MS console again...

i have orginal Xbox, Xbox 360 and now Xbox One, i gave my best to support MS all the time, and even now we X1 users cant get any benifit from xbox live, im still having faith on X1, but if MS dropped kinect and make kinect isnt an essential anymore, i swear
i'll never gonna get a MS console again...
Newsflash! PS4 has voice commands
Compared to the Xbox One it has a very limited subset of commands, and no support in 3rd party apps.
So that would be less than what the Xbox One supports.
Xbox One is a DLNA receiver (Play To) and supports CD playback. PS4 has neither, in addition to lacking USB media support.

Just pointing out the common misconception here that PS4 is just a games console with no multimedia or voice commands.
