Kinect keeps turning off by itself

Mine has been randomly saying it's disabled (showing the icon in the top-right of the screen). A hard-reset (holding the power button down until the system shuts off) temporarily fixes the issue, but it is happening every couple of days or so.

I'll try unplugging the cables while powered off and then reconnect. Hopefully this will resolve my issues as well.

My Kinect has been turning off since I bought the xbox one 3 years ago first kinect I had to unplug whole system 2nd kinect I bought I had to unplug kinect from the back. Would turn on and off and stay off till I unplugged it and was sluggish with my voice
commands. When verizon fios upgraded me from a generation 2 router to a generation 3 router a few weeks ago both kinects work very well and never turn off or miss a voice command. It has something to do with the router.

Currently going through this same issue.

The only time I notice this occurring is while I watch videos. The 3 RED lights will first turn off and shortly after the Xbox logo light will turn off as well. I go into the settings>>Kinect and it will say that my Kinect is disconnected, when clearly it
is still plugged into my Xbox One. I have followed the suggested hard reset of the Xbox One and unplugging from the Outlet, but that is only a temporary fix. The Kinect will remain on for several hours (or minutes depending on my luck) and will begin turning
on and off once again.

I think the update that brought the "Turn gestures off while watching video" within the Kinect settings may be the culprit and that update brought a software bug that causes the Kinect to malfunction. I realize that some users have been complaining about
this particular problem way before that update was released, but it would be my only explanation as to why my particular Kinect is working intermittently as it only started occurring after the recent updates.

Hopefully Microsoft is aware of this issue and is trying to provide us with a solution ASAP. It is frustrating to think that $500 worth of hardware is becoming faulty before it even becomes 1 year old.

its worse for me the kinect keeps turning on and off like every few seconds or every minute and it wont listen to any of my commands such as "xbox on" or "xbox go to netflix". when i say the commands it just tells me that the kinect is unpluged on top right
corner even though the kinect is on but then it turns off. i cant even find the problem on the support page and im scared that my kinect may be broken.

Resetting factory defaults did not work. Don't waste your time just return it. The Kinect is broken.

Removing the power and kinect leads from the console. Then put them back in place, making sure you have the kinect in fully. This has sorted my problem of the kinect switching on & off by itself. Think the console was out of wack as game saves would not
work either. Just left me at the loading screen.

My Kinect kept doing this, this weekend. I turned off my Xbox disconnected the power cord and disconnected the Kinect cord too. After about 30 seconds I plugged in the Xbox power cord and turned it on. After i came on i went to the settings clicked Kinect
then plugged in my Kinect. Its working fine now. But it is a worrisome problem that i fear will get worse in the future.

i unplugged the power then the kinect. left it for about a minute. plugged kinect in then the power. works fine now
