Kinect keeps turning off and on after update

my xbox one day one editions kinect keeps turning off and on after the update and Microsoft is trying to tell me i have to pay to have it fixed when this is a problem after they did a software updated screw microsoft i will never buy anything they offer
again if this dose not get fixed and i have to pay for it!!! They know truely how many people are having this same problem and one again they are denying that this is a manufacturers defect and they once again want us the customer to pay for it yea thats right
here we go again with the same bull crap i will never spend my hard earned money on this crap again no service junk they steal your money and lie to you about what is really going on behind closed doors SONY PLAYSTATION 4S HERE I COME SCREW SCORPIO I CAN ALREADY

Since the last update my kinect keeps turning itself off every 2 minutes any ideas?

Cleaning it should not require taking it apart. Normally the fan is off, and only runs if it overheats. The software drivers turn things on and off, including the fan. Blowing it out with a vacuum blower or a small air can should be sufficient.

The main issue is the driver communication between the 2 devices. I think though the driver software never has done well regarding the fan operation, where the fan normally is off even when it is on. If the Kinect is on, I would think the fan should always
be running. I think they did it like they did to prevent dust from building up through the circuit board, but did not consider it overheating. The driver communication needs to be improved where the operation is not affected by the cashe load on it.

Have you tried a system reset? If that doesn't work then maybe the next update will fix it. And you can just unplug the Kinect from the XB1. But if you like Kinect it's a bummer that it's messed up.

I was told by MS support that it should be placed in an open area not to close to objects or heat. They don't recommend opening it up, but do recommend making sure the venting is clean. Blowing it out with compressed air is not recommended by staff, but
vacuum hose is sufficient to blow dirt out of it.

I do think the software should be changed for the fan operation, where the fan is on whenever the unit is on. I do think it is possible to have the settings of it changed where it is possible to manually configure it to the needs of the user.

It appears that there is an intermittent Kinect driver issue, which turns it on, off and calibrates it. Yesterday I found there was a problem of Kinect sign in, giving me a code 0x80a40008, but also noticed there was an issue of the Kinect working properly.
I did a hard reset, and factory reset, but when I did a factory reset, the Kinect refused to calibrate before I entered my sign in information (it should calibrate the Kinect before the sign in info is entered, not after). I redid the factory reset which then
it calibrated the Kinect before I entered my sign in info.

With the Kinect drivers, it turns it on through software (not hardware switching) as well as overall function of it. Persistent cashe might be part of the problem, where the cashe is overloading the driver function, but I think the driver in the Kinect might
be the sole source of the problem, where the drivers in the console and in the Kinect don't communicate well. Might need a revision of the driver software in both the Kinect and console to resolve the problem.
