Kinect issue, but kinect not the problem

I have 3 xbox ones, each with kinect. One of my consoles stopped accepting voice commands from its kinect. I switched the kinect with another console. The kinect is fine on another console.

I have recalibrated the kinect on the console that wouldn't work. It calibrated perfectly. Console still won't take voice commands.

I disconnected everything and reconnected it. Console still won't take commands from the kinect.

The console does show the camera, but it does not hear any of my voice commands. Again, the kinect works perfectly on another console.

Kinect keeps turning on and off

It appears that there is an intermittent Kinect driver issue, which turns it on, off and calibrates it. Yesterday I found there was a problem of Kinect sign in, giving me a code 0x80a40008, but also noticed there was an issue of the Kinect working properly.
I did a hard reset, and factory reset, but when I did a factory reset, the Kinect refused to calibrate before I entered my sign in information (it should calibrate the Kinect before the sign in info is entered, not after). I redid the factory reset which then
it calibrated the Kinect before I entered my sign in info.

With the Kinect drivers, it turns it on through software (not hardware switching) as well as overall function of it. Persistent cashe might be part of the problem, where the cashe is overloading the driver function, but I think the driver in the Kinect might
be the sole source of the problem, where the drivers in the console and in the Kinect don't communicate well. Might need a revision of the driver software in both the Kinect and console to resolve the problem.

i know i am having the same issue sent console off and get a new one and got a new hard drive as well but still having the same issue not abole to play my kinect gams the only one that i dont have a problem with is kinect adventures but the rest i do have
a problem with

 

Hey ModestWarrior15! It sounds like the console may be having issues with its Kinect connection. Does the Xbox light on the Kinect turn on when you start a command? You may want to try a

factory reset on the console to see if helps resolve the issue. Post back and let me know!

I have the same issue -- started a few weeks ago. Recalibrates fine. Light is on. Hears voice when searching. But no longer responds to xbox commands.

 

Figured it out from another post... Cortana was enabled. Rather than precede commands by "Cortana" ... just turned it off. Back in business.

 

i have done a factory reset and the issue persists. The kinect works perfectly on my other xbox ones, so it has to be something with the console. Is this something I can fix on my own?

The xbox light does not turn on when I speak on this console. The console does see the camera.

 

I did the reset. The problem persists. Only on this xbox one. I don't see lights when i speak, but the console does see the camera.
