Kinect is stuck issues

Okay, so just yesterday, my friend lend me his Xbox 360, gave me 2 controllers, a few battery packs, a nyko charger, and a Kinect. My cousins were with me (there really young, around 7-9 years old.) They started playing around with the Kinect, such as manually
moving it up and down (which on this website says that can damage the hardware) And just a few minutes ago, I was re-calibrating the Kinect for Fruit Ninja Kinect, it calibrated but all it did was move completely down, and make a similar sound to when you
would remove a cartridge during gameplay on a GBA, but less headaches (I didn't know what else to compare it to!) I unplugged the Kinect from the Xbox. I didn't wan't to connect it again because I think it might break, help please?

Reverse compatible xbox one

We're stuck in a loop. Res, Backwards compatibility, price, Kinect, Res, Backwards compatibility, price, Kinect. I'd like to hear about something else, even if it is a complaint.

Do voice commands work on new the Kinectless XB1?

I find it funny that all the ppl who bought an X1 with Kinect are like "GET A KINECT"....b/c they got stuck with one and now they want everyone to be stuck with one.

Sorry to tell you that if the kids were moving it up and down they probably stripped the gears and broke it. You're going to have to purchase a new kinect sensor for your friend to replace it.

Hello Miss Portia,

Referring to the update issue.

Yes, I had to disconnect the Kinect sensor in order for the update to correctly download.

I didn't receive any error message when trying to install the update with the Kinect sensor plugged in.

It would simply get stuck at about 25-30% downloaded.

I actually left it to download for a couple hours & it was still stuck at the same place upon return.

The console itself wasn't frozen as I found out once I pressed the guide button, which in turn forced me to start the process over again.

The dashboard issue persists at random. Some days/weeks more than others.

It very well could be related to the Kinect Sensor.

Which is why I was trying to find out how many others with the issue have a Kinect.

As the issue is more or less becoming random now I cannot say for sure on my end if the sensor is the issue.

I will say that the issue seems to start popping up more often after the Sales & Specials + app freezes on exit, with the purple swirl graphic stuck on the screen.

As of late for the past few days, I haven't had the issue pop up.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed it won't return.

There were a lot of launch issues and flak that they fixed, some immediately like tying the disc to your account policy, the required internet connection to be always on and the privacy issues with the Kinect.

Some issues were fixed later with the removal of the forced bundle of Xbox one and kinect, lowering the price.

I believe CEC is a launch issue that hasn't gotten enough attention so it was never fixed and the people who stuck with ir only were able to keep it that way.
