Kinect is killing the Xbox One.

Alright, so you admit to not having any argument has to why the X1 is $500. Fine by me. I know the goal of a company is to make as much money as possible. And Microsoft is currently beating Sony in that category. The people I'm referring to are real life
friends of mine but you can choose not to believe me if you want.

Though Microsoft will be rolling in dough, in the end forcing Kinect down people's throats only affects their console. If anything the only thing you're proving to me is that Microsoft doesn't give a damn about the consumer.

Taka, there are been dozens of these threads in the last few weeks alone. All of them the same, upset people who don't understand marketing or the entire purpose of a business, complaining about being forced fed the Kinect 2. Frankly, I'm

Taka, what is your argument to why the Kinect is made the Xbox One $500? Besides the fact that you're just making that assumption. Please link your source from a Microsoft exec stating the Kinect 2 increased the price from $400 to $500.

Well I've seen a LOT of people purchase the Xbox One despite it coming with the Kinect, between 3-4 million people to be exact.

As Microsoft's goal with the Xbox is to sell things to the consumer, they by definition have to care somewhat about the consumer.

[/quote]That's not true at all, I hope they make some really cool stuff for Kinect...BEFORE they try selling it to us. Make me want a Kinect and then I'll buy it of my own free will.

I'm glad that they force it upon everyone if they didn't the developers would not use it enough and nothing good would come from it. Just my opinion.

 

According to Gamespot, the Fitness App for the XB1, which uses the kinect, is off to a "hot start," with over 1.5 million workouts logged in. I guess not everyone thinks the kinect is killing the XB1.

Okay so here's the deal. As far as I know, there hasn't been a price tag put on the kinect as an individual piece of equipment. The kinect comes bundled with the console and consumers naturally have the choice of whether to purchase it or not. Misinformation
will not get anyone anywhere. Yes the console reserves some power for the kinect but as its already been stated, not everyone uses the console for just gaming. Xbox Fitness for example. The kinect is required to exercise along with that program and if I remember
correctly, Xbox Fitness will soon require a paid membership. This (in my opinion) is one of the many reasons that kinect's are bundled with the console, so that everyone has a chance to play with it and developers know that console owners will have one.



It adds to the experience and it opens many doorways along the path.



Now for the sake of the misinformation alone I am going to lock this one up before it gets out of hand. If you feel so strongly against the kinect being bundled with your Xbox One, my advice would be to post in the

Console Feedback Forums.
