I wouldn't want them to not support it either, but I would have preferred the option of a Kinectless unit, if the Kinect was so good it would have sold itself, MS took a chance, and if they're talking about giving developers the Kinects 10% for games the
games won't have Kinect support, either way, Kinect is affecting the console, and not in good ways.

guys guys guys... The XB1 was DESIGNED to use the Kinect.. it has 3 operating systems... one for the Games control, one for the kinect and one to help manage the power between the 2... it is not as simple as making a smaller shipping box and not add the
kinect into that box and slap a cheaper price on it... and send it to Gamestop... what you are asking is for MS to design a WHOLE NEW console... with new OSs and NEW hardware and Software... Sorry guys... doesnt work that way.... you want a MS console that
sells without the kinect..??? buy a 360.. you want a "nex gen" console that does nothing new what so ever and plays a litle bit prettier at this moment in time... well.... you know where and what that is..

If the console can function without kinect, as I know it can, they could release a kinectless sku.
MS would have sold loads more if they had a Kinect Sku at launch, Kinect has cost them a lot gamers,
You have no proof. Anecdotal evidence from your friends is not proof.
They cannot to achieve their goals with a Kinect-less SKU. To make an accessory ubiquitous, that accessory has to be included with every single console kit.

Now what would that get you... you can already NOT use the kinect or have ut plugged in.... so you are saying.. you will be OK with purchasing an XB1 that did not have the Kinect included with NO hardware or software changes AT ALL to the interior
working of the console... so basically.. an XB1 shipped as they are, just without a kinect in the box.. for the same price?

It's not proof, but it's probably not far off the mark, I only bought the Xbox One because they decided to allow us the option to remove it, and as I have said before I know why they included Kinect, ubiquitous is not the word I would use, but yes so it
was everywhere, we would all have it.

-

But that goes back to the original, people were never going to just accept it, not everyone liked, wanted or needed it for various reasons, I don't know why MS thought they would just all of a sudden embrace it.

"They" don't have to. MS
is a for-profit company. They're banking on the cross section of people who buy the console also being people who spend money, moreso than if the same people bought a watered-down PC.

Home console hardware sales are not exactly profit generators. It's the game, service, and accessory sales that a console facilitates which generate profit.

Yes, what some people cannot seem to grasp is, all some of us want is a games machine, we don't use our Xboxes for Skype, TV, DvD, Kinect games, so yes, a Kinectless unit at the same price with a controller and or a game would have been very nice.

No one is twisting your arm to buy an Xbox One. If you don't like what it offers, by all means go elsewhere. You're not going to change MS's mind in a forum. Only your wallet can do that.

I said it earlier in the thread and I'll say it again - the only reason I use my Xbox One is Kinect and the HDMI pass-through. If it didn't have that, I'd turn it on as often as I turn on my PS4 (every few weeks). MS wants people turning on their consoles,
even if it's just to watch TV or stream video.

Sorry but they do have to Ice, if they're a profit making company like you say, they need to appeal to more than just one type of person, yes bundle kinect, but there is a lot that won't buy it, so I feel they should cater to those too.
Sorry but they do have to Ice
Last I checked, Xbox One played games. What part of that is not appealing to gamers?

Because you don't like the price means you're not the target market for Microsoft. Microsoft is not going after the lowest common denominator. Your focus on the price difference between $399 and $499 is evidence that you're not their target market. The $100
delta in price means nothing to me. I'm part of MS's target demographic.

Essentially, you don't spend enough money. There's nothing wrong with that, but whining about it here is pointless.

As far as I'm concerned the price is not the problem and you know it, MS could still have had the high prices, I bought my Xbox at launch, and didn't mind, many I know, including myself would have preferred a game and a controller instead of kinect. The
price was NEVER an issue with me.

-

And if we're not spending enough, why are they dropping prices ?
As far as I'm concerned the price is not the problem and you know it
Heh, no, not true, because you say this:
Right there,
you care about bang for the buck, a.k.a. money.
They aren't. There was a promo period during Titanfall's launch. Pricing on the consoles has since gone back up to $499.

You care about money. You care about how much the console costs. There's nothing wrong with that, but there's a subset of people MS is going for where the delta between $399 and $499 is inconsequential. You aren't part of that subset. While it's great you've
joined the Xbox One owner's club anyway, whining about the price isn't going to change anything.

14. All I have to say and I would like to ask all of you is, if Microsoft came to you and said would you rather have a more powerful console without the Kinect or a less powerful console with the Kinect I would 100% take the former without a question. Now, I
am not saying I regret buying the XBOX One because honestly I can never see myself owning a PS4, but I would have rather Microsoft taking the cost of Kinect and putting that money into better hardware.

Yes I did say I would prefer a controller and a game instead of kinect, I did NOT say I wanted it cheaper, so how does that mean I mind the price ?
