Kinect has stopped working

My kinect has started showing up as "not connected" and i am trying to get some support for fixing it. I have gone through all of the available recommendations for getting it back up and running but nothing seems to work.

So I call support to get some help and I have been on hold for the last 87 minutes waiting to hear if there are other options.

So 2 questions, 1. Are people still having Kinect issues? and 2. Whats up with the hold times? An hour and 30 mins on hold (and counting) is outrageous!

I've recently been on the phone to support about my Kinect sensor not working , and they've told me to post it here. The problem is that there is no power going to my kinect , I only started to have problems with it since I had the preview program update
for the cortana. I've tried few things which support has talked me through like , resetting my console with the power and Kinect lead out , I've also removed me account and re adding but none have worked. Support said it may be to do with the preview program
, if a member of that preview program could help me out that would be great!

Otherwise it may be that the Kinect has simply died and needs to be replaced. If you have a friend with an xbox one console nearby then perhaps try taking the sensor there to see if it works.

 

Gave up on hold after almost 2 hrs. Not exactly awe inspiring customer service.

 

I have two pieces of advice:

1. Try a hard reset (press and hold the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds until you hear a click, then wait until the power brick turns an amber color before turning it back on). I had this problem after a beta update and this fixed it.

2. If you have any friends with Xbox Ones, check to see if the Kinect works on their Xbox.

Thanks for the reply. I did try the hard reset with no luck. I think I'm going to have to send it in for a replacement. Though considering the total lack of response I got while on the phone, I am concerned that I will never see the thing again! I purchased
the XB1 at Target back in December, maybe I can take the whole thing back to them for a replacement/refund. Anyone had any luck with returning these to their local retailer?

 

try unplugging the power to the xbox one and plugging it back in. Mine did this as well on multiple occasions and it resolved the issue both times

 

I can tell you right now you will not receive support from customer service. Just do a simple search of Kinect Unplugged issues on these forums and you will see a common trend. I placed an advanced repair order order for my Kinect on 2/13. The order is
still sitting in progress and customer service will only pass it along to this advocacy team. The advocacy team then in turn has four business days to contact you. They will not. You call back customer service which is your only option and and they will will
again pass it along. This has happened three times for this order and as of today I've still not even received a email regarding this issue. Good luck

Thanks all. Device is registered, tried multiple support options including live chat and phone. Did the search on known issues and, short of sacrificing a small animal to <insert pagan god here> I have had no luck.

I am going to follow LB's advice and just place the repair order. I'll be holding my breath for a reply.
