    Kinect going on and off constantly


    Kinect has worked great for years on my xbox 1

    But now it dont... try to get into setting and it says plug it in. Sometimes the options to turn on or mute mic appear6in the setting then disappears .

    The light on the kinect is white.... it's on... then off...

    I thinking it's a problem with power... but idk... everything else works great.

    Does the Kinect turn off when in use? Or does it seem to happen when it's not in use?

    I see sometimes that my Kinect will turn off when I don't have it set to use as my mic and I'm in a game that doesn't use it. I think it is taking the resources that it had established for the Kinect, and frees them for performance, but that is just speculation.

    Tried all that... the option for my kinect has moved on stays up for a second or so... when kin et has power then turns right back off... I've gotten into that menu and says plug it in... and yuo its plugged in.

    Hello There,

    Sorry for the issue with your Kinect. You can try these steps found on
    troubleshooting the Kinect.

    Try the following:

    1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the Kinect sensor from the console.
    3. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.
    4. Plug the Kinect sensor into the back of the console and wait up to 2 minutes for it to be recognized.
    5. Go to the Kinect Settings page:
      1. Press the Xbox button
        to open the guide.
      2. Select System > Settings > Kinect & devices > Kinect.
    6. Select I moved my Kinect sensor or I'm having trouble with Kinect.
    7. Follow the instructions to adjust your Kinect sensor, including audio calibration.
